From This Moment

Happy Snow Day!
I"m waiting for the snow to slow down a bit before we get out to shovel and play.
In the meantime, I get to sit at my desk and scrap all day.
I have been trying to figure out a page for the challenge at Creative Embellishments all month.
Of course, at the last minute, I came up with this:

I used a corrugated background and some leftover lace.
The chipboard pieces I used are the title and the flourish under the flowers - all from Creative Embellishments.

Here is the inspirational picture that was offered for the challenge:

Celebrate - All Star Jazz Band

I sure do miss events like this - heck, I miss any event right now.
So glad that my daughter was able to celebrate things like finally being inducted into the All Star Jazz Band.

For this page, I used some gold scraps, gold star stickers, and some newer swirl sticker and music notes.
I feel like the majority of this page was all miscellaneous scraps and it makes me so happy!

I chose this event for the challenge at Lasting Memories.
Make sure you stop by and check it out!

Cookie' Up Creations - Out with the old

This month at Cookin' Up Creations, we are focusing on Out with the Old and In with the New.

This is making me dig deep into the stash to find things I have been hoarding for a long time.

For this page, I wanted to use up some of these metal rimmed tags.  I have about 100 of them!

I was working on a sketch that called for smaller circles and this is what I came up with:

Amazingly, I even had the right colors I needed!

For a second page I did, I used up some of these way old plastic slide mounts:

I never know what to do with them until I saw a page on Pinterest that used them as a base for smaller stickers.
This is yet another embellishment that I seem to have way too much of.

I'm loving this challenge!

My new Ikea cubes are coming on Monday, so clearing out old stash is perfect timing for when they get here.

Taking a Hike

And again, another page using up some really old stash!

For this page, I used up more of a collection from All My Memories:

I tend not to use older stuff because I'm afraid to part with it and then find a better idea for it later.
But since this has been around since 2005, I thought it was time to let it go.
I finished off a page of these stickers tags - I cut them in have to work for my page.
The alphas are also from the same collection.
The scalloped circle is from a set of die cut pieces - I have no idea where they came from...lol.
I inked up the edges to soften the stark white.
Then I added the twine and buttons to the tags.

I used this sketch from Sketch N Scrap #217 to get started with:

Camping

I so wish we could go camping again!!  Hopefully this year will be much better.

Now that our girls can join in on camping fun with the scouts, my son, daughter and husband have great weekends and I get some time to myself.

I used a circle die cut from Pink Paisley and a woodgrain background paper from Recollections.
The flowers are from 49 and Market.  I wanted to pull in the blue from the die cut and add a feminine touch to a scout page.
The stickers are all from Paper House.

I'm using this as a "Going Places" page for the new challenge at Lasting Memories.

Here's hoping we get a chance to go more places!

Before and after

I finally found a way to use this "Braces" title!

It has such an "industrial" look to it and I just couldn't figure out to make it work.

A new Tuesday Morning challenge has been posted in the forum at Cookin' Up Creations:
to do a page about change.
Lasting Memories also has a challenge to do a before and after page.
I decided to combine the two.

I knew I wanted to use these pictures of my daughter before and after her braces.

I ordered them last week and so happy when they showed up yesterday.
The colors in the pictures drew me to this collection by Photoplay - Gypsy Rose.
Old-ish...it's from 2018.

So happy this piece is not hiding in the stash anymore!

I "heart" my Sorority

Good evening!  Sure feels good to finish up a page after a long day at work.
I was so tired all day today, I thought for sure I would just go to bed.

Here is my page for the day:

I used this sketch from Tracy at Cookin' Up Creations:

And an added challenge to using up our old stash, was to use up some buttons.
I luckily found these that matched my page perfectly.
I also used some misting sprays on my background paper.
I have about 20 bottles o this stuff and rarely use it.

The colors came from this mood board from Scrap the Girls:

It inspired me to use the blue and pink with a lot of black.

Okay, NOW I'm tired!  Off to bed.

Welcome to the new year of challenges at Stick it Down sketches!!

I am so excited to be part of this amazing team of talented ladies.

To start off 2021, we offer up this beautiful sketch by Antonia:

I chose a glimmer paper for my background.  I knew this was going to have to be sparkly page for our New Year's Eve celebration last year.
The title was part of a card kit that just happened to catch my eye while digging through my stash.
I added some border bling from Dollar Tree along with some swirl bling and sparkling flower stickers.
My favorite part was the timepiece that I finally used - it's been around for quite a while.

Stop by the Stick it Down blog and meet the rest of the team and see what they created with the sketch.

Splashdown!

Happy Sunday!

I'm doing a really good job clearing out some old stash.
A new challenge from Studio Challenges is to use some old with some new.
These stickers are YEARS old.
I don't know what I was saving them for.
And these alpha stickers are so old, they didn't have any adhesive left.
I had to glue them all down.

I also used some scraps of burlap paper.
For the new, I added quite a few drops of Nuvo Drops.
These are new to me, and I am addicted!
I love that they dry so clearly and quickly.

I started out with this sketch from Sketch N Scrap #216:

My scrap stash is whittling down quickly!

Sunshine & Me

Happy Thursday!

I thought about this page all day at work.  It's a little bit busier than I expected, but I am happy with it.

I used lots of fun bits and pieces...circles punch, ribbon, enamel dots...
I played with the Use Your Stuff challenge #413 - All About the New.
For my NEW stash, I used this awesome black and white gingham ribbon that was found in the Christmas section.
My sunflower ephemera and butterflies are all from a new pack I bought from a Scrapbook Deals facebook group.
I also used some new rub on alphas I found at Dollar Tree.

So glad some of these goodies never made it the drawer before I used them.
Sometimes, those drawers are like the Bermuda Triangle...never to be found again...lol

Be You

Hello again!

It's time for another challenge from Cookin' Up Creations.

This month is all about using up the Old Stash so we can play with the New Stash.

For this page, I dug to the near bottom of the scrap pile to match up these papers from Little Yellow Bicycle's Paradise collection.
Most of these were scraps, but the larger pieces needed to be used and not tossed.
I also used up some packaging material from Prima Flowers.
Sometimes, the backing for the flowers is really nice!
For my flowers, I dusted off my punches.
It's nice to use tools that haven't been utilized much.

Stop by the Cookin' Up Creations forum to see what else everyone is creating!

Blast Off!!

It's so hard to get a good picture of this page:

I used some fun holographic paper for my background.
I then added some glitter scraps, brads, eyelets and some bling.
LOTS of shiny stuff!

I used the Blast Off collection from My Mind's Eye and this Tic Tac Toe board from Scrap with Stacy:

I played the bottom row on the board.  I added some space / planet ephemera, a banner made from star scraps and I'm using the planets as my circles, along with the bling and the brads.

So happy to use up some old stash!

Thanks for stopping by!

A+ Great Work

Happy Saturday!

I feel like I'm off to a great start using up my old stash.
I dug deep into the depths of the stash to work with this sketch from Rochelle:

I found some older scraps from the School Spirit collection by Crate Paper circa 2010!

These bits are paper looked like fun and I just couldn't toss them, so I finally used them.
YAY!
I also added some random stickers and some felt pieces that I found in the dollar deals section at Target years ago...when they used to have scrapbook stuff in there.

Join us this month at Cookin' Up Creations while we play Out with the Old, In with the New.
Use up the old stash and mix it up with the new stash.

First page of 2021

Happy New Year!!!  I'm really hoping that this year is very different from 2020.

The only thing I will miss from the past year is having extra time to scrapbook.  The downside is with so many things cancelled, I had fewer pictures to scrap.

Here is my first page for 2021:

As part of the team at Cookin' Up Creations, we are hosting a new challenge this month:

Out with the Old - In with the New.

I used a really old collection from Moxxie.
I cannot find any information on how old this collection is!
If that's any indication as to how long it's been around..lol.
Check out the new challenge for the first of the year and hopefully you will be inspired to use your old stash.

I used this sketch from Sketches in Thyme #451:

I was lucky enough to be selected to be on the Design Team!  I am so excited to be part of this wonderful group of scrapbookers.  Stop by and see what our amazing team has put together using this sketch.

Together is the Best place to be

Welcome to 2021!!!
I am hoping and praying that this year is a much better year than last, as I'm sure everyone is.

This year I am lucky enough to be on a new Design Team.
I am now part of the fabulous group of ladies designing layouts for Let's Get Sketchy!

I have been playing along with their sketches for years and I am so happy to be part of the team!
This is the first part of a great new year!

For January, we were offered this sketch to work with:

Fun, right??

I used Echo Park - I Love Family collection.
They had the perfect patterned paper to sue for those hexagons.
These were cut out by hand and a few of them were mounted on pop dots just to break up the pattern a bit.

I hope you will stop by and play along with the sketch.
Every month a new winner is chosen to be a Guest Designer at Let's Get Sketchy.

The sketches for the new year are fun and you won't want to miss out!
