The Note-ables

I love scouring the internet looking for new titles for my pages and always getting lucky!

This one just cracked me up!

I used some scraps of fabric paper with gold polka dot embellishments and some neutral colored doilies.
I added some black flowers and gold buttons.
Managed to cut my finger while cutting the backs off of the buttons!

The music note piece is a chipboard embellishment from Creative Embellishments.
I thought leaving it in its natural state was the perfect coloring.

I used this sketch from Sketches in Thyme:

Best Friends

I was lucky enough to win a prize package from CSI and Cocoa Daisy last month!

I was so happy to get this little box of goodies!

As I work on a subject, I match up the pictures I want to put on a page and put them all on my message board above my desk.
These pictures from this year's Tri-M National Honor Society induction ceremony were perfect!

I used green ink on the edges of my white background paper and as I was trying to soften the white with a bit of peach colored ink, the ink pad popped off and messed it all up.
So I grabbed it and just kept going  with it...lol.
It's way darker than I wanted it to be but since there is a bit of darker peach in the flowers, I think it worked out.
This kit came with papers, ephemera, stickers, tags and washi tape.
I used up a bit of everything.

Here is the inspirational sketch I used from Sketches in Thyme #409:

Prom 2019

As I wrap up the stack of band pictures, I dabbled into some prom photos....

My background started out white and I used a brick red misting spray.
The papers were all found in the scrap drawer.
One of my "things to do" for this year is to either use my scraps or get rid of them.
I've been able to use tons of them lately.

My inspiration for this page comes from the February moodboard from Creative Embellishments:

The added challenge was to add flowers..which was the easy part.
Along with my scraps, that I inked the edges, I used a bit of chipboard from CE.
I cut up a bit of 6x6 chipboard panel that kinda matches the railing that the kids are standing on.
I used black ink on these pieces.
After I added the flowers, I used chipboard leaves that I painted white and then dabbed with a bit of green paint.
I used a bit of the ribbon from the corsage to add to my flower clusters too.

Thanks to CE for the inspiration!

Jazzy Girl

Using up a bit of scraps to complete this page:

I used a circle punch and buttons for all of my circles.
This works for the challenge from Use Your Stuff - to use circles.
Glad to have dusted off my punches!

Here is the sketch I used from The Studio Challenges:

My Friends

I love using lots of gold on my pages, but it's so hard to get good pictures of it all.

Here I used gold washi tape as my border, gold doilies, and gold scraps of paper.
The musical note paper also has gold in it too.
And of course, my title is also gold...lol.

Here is the sketch from Scrap Our Stash that inspired me:

Grand Slam

Getting away from the girly pages, while I had baseball on my mind...

This little guy loves the game of baseball.

This was a great sketch from Sketch N Scrap:

Of course, when I saw the flowers, I almost went back to girly pics!
But alas, I fought and won!  lol!!

Shine

Here is a different take on a band page:

I used colors to match her dress and some bling.

Loving all the music papers I've been finding at Hobby Lobby!

Here is the sketch from Creative Scrapper Magazine that got me started:

So glad to be away from the orange and black layouts!

Thank for stopping by!!

Baseball All Star

Finally got some inspiration to do a boys page!!
I love my daughter, but this school book is killing me...lol.

Here is a baseball page I made using the inspiration from Scrap the Boys:

Love these vintage baseballs. The felt stars were from the hidden stash.
All of the stickers are a mix from the tons of baseball stuff I have collected.
Glad he's still playing!
It will take me years to use up all this stuff!

Smile

I love when the dresses match my papers perfectly!
I was so excited to finally use up these flowers too!

This moodboard from Scrap the Girls inspired me to pull out these gorgeous Homecoming pictures of my daughter and her friends:

I love when the dresses match my papers perfectly!
I was so excited to finally use up these flowers too!

I added some ribbon, gold foam leaves that matched the gold lettering.
And the pretty flowers are from Prima.
These beautiful papers are from Maja Design - Denim and Girls collection!
So pretty!!!

I worked with this sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:

This was so fun and easy to work with.

I'm glad these pictures were a perfect match for the papers and the sketch!

Mello Moments

Just when I think I am almost done with band pictures - I run across a few more!

Thankfully, I have lots of sketches to work with that keep my inspired!

Here is the page I created using this fun sketch:

This background paper is actually white with silver polka dots.
It's really hard to get a good picture of shiny papers.
I found these sheets of vellum music note papers at Hobby Lobby - and will probably have to get more.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Style

This girl certainly has "style" and loves to show it off!
Just love the sass in this photo!

I used a blue misting spray on my white background and added some blue sequins.
The blingy frame was hiding in the stash - but I knew I had it - I just had to find it!

I think the worst part of the stash is KNOWING you have the perfect embellishment, you have seen it a million times, but the moment you need it, it's no where to be found!
I have spent countless hours searching for items I know I have!
Luckily, I found it ...along with many other items I forgot I had - and will forget where they are when I need them....lol.

I used this sketch - #407 - from Sketches in Thyme:

Race Day

Before I get burnt out on working with just one subject at a time, I like to dig thru the stash and find other pictures that have been "forgotten".

Working with this month's challenge from White with 1 - here is the color that I needed to use:

The hardest part was trying to find just the right pictures.  I would normally go straight for pool pics or the beach, but I don't have those printed yet!

I found these pictures from a 5K race a friend and I had completed a few years ago.

Once I found the pictures,  I had to make them work with the additional sketch challenge:

I love that I was able to play with some older patterned papers, doilies and misting sprays.

Now, I only have pics from about 10 other races we did!

Oh Happy Day!

How fun is it when a game can be incorporated into your favorite hobby!
It's so fun and quite the challenge to play Bingo AND get a page done.
But, it sure makes you think!  And dig through your stash to find just the right combination of items to get that Bingo!

Here is the Bingo board from Scrap with Stacy:

I chose to work with the left side - Stickers, Dots and Hearts:

I used a punch for all of my hearts and some of them are glitter felt stickers.
I added some pink brads for my "dots.
And this random set of rose stickers worked very well for this page - use that stash!

Pre-game Performance

I am still working on lots of band pictures.  That's what happens when your daughter is in band for 4 years and you don't scrap any pictures at all!  They pile up!
And now that my goal is to finish up her school book before she graduates - I am so far behind!!!

Here is a fun sketch from Rochelle this month:

I love the circles!  And I just happen to have some pre-cut in the stash.  That's why I always save my "scraps".

I used a flower punch to make my musical flowers.

And a couple more pictures - done!

Birthday Page!

Hello there! While it snows off and on all day, I will be catching up on pages and posts.

Here is a page I made this morning using sketch # 194 from Sketch N Scrap:

Here is the original sketch:

The added challenge was to use circles, dots or polka dots.
I used a circle patterned paper and I guess my balloons are kinda circle-y...lol

Guest Designing for Stick it Down

Hello!!  I am so excited to be a Guest Designer on the Stick it Down Challenge blog!

They always have great sketches to work with - a 1 page and 2 page sketch and then a card sketch.
Each month offers new challenges.

This month,, I was chosen to work with the 2 page sketch:

2 page sketches are a little difficult for me, but I've been getting better at them.
I love that I can incorporate so many pictures at once.

Here is my page:

I hand cut the big heart and then added lace trim along the edges.  The papers are all from DCWV.
I love how this turned out!

Thank  you so much to the Stick it Down girls!

I'm looking forward to playing along with more challenges!

Stop by and see what they have to offer for this months challenges!

Our Family Tree

On of our favorite things to do when we spend time with Grandpa, is to get him talking about his childhood and the family history.

Here is when we presented him with a huge layout of the Family Tree - as we knew it - and then listened as he regaled stories about his relatives.

He really opens up a lot if he doesn't know the camera are on him.
My husband tries to sneak up behind him and capture audio recordings also.

This moodboard from The Studio Challenges caught my eye and right away I knew this would be the perfect page.

I only wish I had captured him telling stories WHILE he was sipping his tea.
