SPLASH!

I had a blast last Summer playing around with my new underwater camera.  I gave it to the kids and they took some fun pictures of each other under the water in our pool.

Breaking into the older stash....I used some OLD alpha stickers on pop dots, and some page pebbles.  I honestly don't know if these were supposed to be yellow or if they became yellow with age...lol.
But they worked for the page, so I was happy.  :)
I used some splashes of Glimmer Mist on the background...boy, did I make a mess of my desk...oops!
And my favorite part was playing with 2 different styles of washi tape.  :)

Here is the sketch from Let's Get Sketchy that inspired me:

Have a great evening!!

All Dressed Up

Love when I find a color challenge and I just don't have the right collection to use for it.
This really forces me to think outside the box and do some serious digging around in the stash to find just what I need.  That is some serious motivation!

I used some older die cut shapes from My Mind's Eye,  a title rub on that I have had for years, a flourish border piece that I found on clearance a while ago, a die cut circle I have had for a long time and some new purple flowers I just bought.

Here is the color palette from Color Me Scrappy:

The easy part was the twist...which was to use a white background.

This page was originally done for the DT try outs...and I used the wrong color palette!  DUH!!
Back to the drawing board!

Have a great day!!!

Rainy Day Fun

Hi again!

Still knocking out a few more pages today!

I REALLY can't wait for Spring!

Is it wrong that I chase my kids outside in the rain so I can get a few fun pictures?
At least it wasn't raining too hard....and we ended the day with a beautiful rainbow.  :)

I'm not too keen on 2 page layouts, so I just worked with the left side of this sketch from Sketches in Thyme.
I'm going to take a shot at the right side later on today.

Have a great day!!

Silly YOU

Happy Sunday!  Up and early to work on some pages.
We have a fun birthday party tonight for my Father in Law...he's going to be 83 years old!

Since the whole family is going to be together, I started off the day working on a family picture:

Sigh....my silly daughter.
I love this picture and I also printed it in an 8x10 to go on the wall.

I used this sketch from My Mind's Eye and I used the Nostalgia collection.
I love the soft pastels!
I used a mask and some glimmer mist on the background.
I know I don't normally journal on my pages, but I realized if I used a soft pencil, I am much more relaxed and open to writing on my pages.

Have a great day!!!

Easter?? Already??

Yep!

With this color scheme from ScrapMuch?...
and this fun Easter collection from Jillibean Soup,  Easter pictures were the answer.

I also used sketch #98 from Sketches in Thyme to help me out.  :)

Have a great day!!
Think Spring!!

Sticking your neck out

Good morning!

I have lots to do today and I am so happy to have just a little bit of time to knock out a page!
This was for another sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:

Gotta love it when the animals at the zoo happily pose for you!
This giraffe walked back and forth and I took tons of pictures.
I didn't want to leave!

But alas,..we have a fun basketball game today.
Wish us luck!

Have  a great day!!

Summer Fun

HI!  It's Wednesday....only Wednesday....sigh...I can't wait for the weekend!!!

I can't wait until Summer!!

To get in the mood for Summer, I played with a color scheme and sketch from Sketches With Color:

This was from a fun day at a watermark.  I used "sand" paper for the background and then lots of pieces from Imaginisce.  My little helper added the buttons.   :)

Here is the color challenge:

And the sketch:

I am so over this frigid cold...bring on SUMMER!!!

Have a great evening!!!

Color Me Scrappy 25

Still trying to catch up on some fun color palette challenges from Color Me Scrappy!

Here is another Fall page:

And here is Color Palette #25:

I was thinking right away that this would be a Christmas page...so happy that I was able to think outside the box and work with Fall instead.   :)

Have a great day!!!

Color Me Scrappy and a sketch

I wanted to play with some fun color challenges at Color Me Scrappy today.
I was lucky enough to have LOTS more pictures from our family photo shoot in Fall to play with.

Here is my page:

This is color palette #24:

And here is the sketch they provided:

Off to work on the other 2 color palettes!

Have a great day!!

Snow Day (or just cold)

Thinking of Spring, I thought of flowers and worked on a page for the color challenge for Authentique:

I fussy cut some of the flowers from the papers and then added a few from the stash.

Here is the color palette:

And I used sketch #244 from Creative Scrappers:

I wish!
All we have now is extreme cold!  It wouldn't be so bad if there was just a little bit of snow out there.

I may regret asking for snow in a couple of weeks....I have a feeling we are going to be getting a LOT!

Here is a snow page from last year's pictures:

Love these goodies from Pink Paislee!!

And this was a fun sketch from Paper Secrets:
And the twist was to add twine.  I wrapped my photo mats in some fun twine pieces.

I'm also using this page the "Snowy Day" challenge from the Child's Play Challenge site.

Have a great day!  Stay Warm!!

It's a COLD Sunday morning..

So I am hybernating!  The winds were crazy wild last night and I am just grateful that we still have power and heat.

I did stay up a bit late last night working on a few more pages.

I am loving this color combo.  These are all papers from My Mind's Eye.

I hid a strip of burlap along the side and a bit of jute for the banner.

The sketch I used is from Let's Get Sketchy:

And then I grabbed these awesome pictures of my two little ones:

It was fun playing with some trims, doilies and these beautiful flowers!

I used this beautiful sketch from Paper Stories:

Time for some hot coffee and more pages!

Have a great day!!!

Scrap Much? 2 pager

I don't normally work with 2 page layouts, but I had lots of fun pictures, so I thought I would try a sketch from Scrap Much:

Lots of fun baseball stuff.   I even managed to sneak in a ticket and hide a few extra stubs behind the photos at the top.

Here is the original sketch from Scrap Much?:

I just found this site and I am so excited to play along.  There are 3 sketches up so far this month.
I worked with the other 2 for my Disney album here.

Have a great day!!!

Good morning...

So happy to have more scrapping time!

Here is a Winter Theme page I did for Kerys' challenge:

Love adding purple to Winter pages!!

I used this sketch from Creative Scrappers:

And next I had fun with another sports page:

Love these colors in the Fancy Pants collection!

And I used this sketch from Boys Rule:

Let's see what else I can get done today!

Have a great day!!

Scrappy Saturday!

Good morning!

If you are here for the If It's Groovy Blog Hop...click here!

This has been a rough week for everyone...fighting off the flu and colds...yuck!
I think we were lucky enough to avoid the worst of it all.  I hope everyone else is just as lucky!

I managed to work on a few things yesterday.

Here is a FUN page I came up with for a new sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:

I love these chipboard stickers from Imaginisce!  So fun!  I inked a few pieces of circle chipboard and added some scraps of paper.
The balloons were made with a circle punch and then I tied some twine to the ends.  I just had to sneak in at least one button.   :)

Here is the original sketch:

Next I worked on a Winter page for Kerys' challenge:

A few foam snowflakes and some epoxy stickers and maybe a little bit of Stickles helped make this fun.
I used a sketch from Practical Scrappers:

And finally, I used a nice (and rare) picture of me and the hubby:

The papers are from Bo Bunny along with the circle quote.  I misted some smaller doilies to add behind the picture.  The flowers are all miscellaneous goodies from the stash with some random rhinestones in the centers.

The sketch I used is from C'est  Magnifique:

I"m off to see what I can accomplish today!

Have a great day!!!

For January, I decided to do a Winter page:

I like to start off the new year by getting the cold out of the way.  By starting off the year with Winter in January, I'm a whole month closer to Spring!

For March, of course I couldn't resist representing St. Patrick's Day:

Lots of gold, lots of green and of course, a cute little leprechaun.

I hope you enjoy spending the rest of the year with our wonderful designers!

Have a great year!!

Baby It's Cold Outside

Luckily, I took lots of snow pictures last year...we haven't had anything to speak of this year...yet....
Not sure what the future hold for us, but being in Chicago, it's always unpredictable.

Here is a fun page I made for Rochelle Spears' challenge which was to use this title on our page:

As you can see, my daughter loves the snow and is really hoping for more.

I used another fun sketch from Scrapbook Steals for this one:

Have a great day!

LGS - Not so Picture Perfect

I don't know if this picture can be considered "not so perfect" but it was taken totally unintentionally.

Let's Get Sketchy challenged us to use a photo that was not so perfect...out of focus....not centered...just off kilter.

I was trying to focus on my daughter and her trumpet playing.  She sounded really good and I really wanted to get some pictures of her practicing.
After I took the picture, I previewed it and THAT'S when I notice my son...

LOL!

I don't know if he was really trying to listen to her, or it was a badly planned photo bomb.
I just knew that this one was going on the photo wall!

I guess he really does appreciate music!

Here is the sketch I used from Scrapbook Steals

I missed out on submitting my page for this challenge, but held onto the sketch.
I'm using this one for Granddiva's January challenge, which was to use any sketch you choose.
So glad I didn't give up on this one!

Have a great day!

You Make Me Smile

Good morning!
I'm posting a quick one as I'm on my way to spend my Christmas scrapping gifts!  YAY!

Here is a page I did for the January sketch at Artful Delight:

These papers are from a fun collection from Nikki Sivils called Messages.
I added some yarn to the edge of the circle and of course, a bunch of buttons!

Here is the original sketch from Artful Delight:

Off to shop!

Have a great day!!
