Mickey Magic

Holy Hotness Batman!!  It's another scorcher out there today!

Here is a page I finished up today.  I started this yesterday but I was so wiped out I pushed it to the side.

I added some brads to my pieces.  The banner was made with some scraps and I used pop dots to give them some dimension.

This page was made using the sketch from Sketches in Thyme:

Main Street March

Today is our Village Parade!!  Both of my younger kids are marching their school's bands.  It's going to be so hot, but I've seen these kids before and they handle it amazingly!  I'm so excited to see them both.  This is the first year for my little guy marching, and he is so nervous.

While I was thinking about marching band, I found these pictures and thought I would give a shot and the Blend a Sketch challenge from Scrap Our Stash.

I have to admit - trying to blend sketches is probably the hardest challenge I play with.  It really gets you thinking!

Here are the sketches we had to work with:

Off to apply tons of sunscreen and pack water for the parade!

Sword in the Stone

Good morning!  It's a beautiful Saturday and I have nothing on the to-do list but play at my desk!

Here is this mornings page:

This was really fun to do!
I hand cut the shield and the sword out of some older metallic papers from DCWV.
The ribbon was something I had in the stash.  I actually thought it was washi tape until I started to use it...lol.
My favorite part has to be the Disney title paper clip that I added to the handle of the sword.

I found it while looking for other elements and thought it was a perfect fit!
My title colors are a bit off - the letters are actually white with a gold trim but the lighting outside is not cooperating today.

Here is the original sketch #159 from Sketch N scrap that was my inspiration:

Adventureland

Gotta love all the changing atmospheres at Disney!

Here we are entering Adventureland:

I fussy cut the gold palm trees from some DCWV papers.
The leaves were altered so they looking more like palm leaves.
I cut out a few bits and pieces to change their appearance.

Here is the sketch I used from Sketchabilities:

CSI: Case 259 - Morocco

Happy middle of the week!!  It feels good to be able to work on some pages during the week!

Today I worked on a page for Case #259 from CSI Challenges:

My picture is a little darker  - rainy day clouds hinders my photography.

Here is how I chose to solve the case:

Evidence:

solid white background (inked with a dark orange and a teal blue)
Architectural elements ( my pictures of Moroccan buildings)
Travel themed elements (smaller travel stickers)
Triangles (I added some black triangles behind my decorative squares)

Testimony:

vacation pics

The Scheme:

bright white paper
bright sky blue
medium muted orange
powder blue
black

Once I realized how many elements I have with this color scheme, I just may haver to work on another page for this challenge!  I need to work with more stash!

Ugly Stepsisters

Good morning!

Here is this morning's page for the sketch challenge at Sketch N Scrap:

I have had these papers in my stash for a very long time.  I can't even remember where I found them.
And the flower brads in the center of the paper flowers - those are probably about 10 years old.
The pink flowers leaves - I thought were pretty but pink leaves seemed strange, so they sat in the box for years.  I'm glad I was able to use up so much older stuff!

Bingo With Lilo

It's such a beautiful day here!  But of course, it's always a better day at Disney!

Here is a fun page I made when we were on lockdown at our resort during Hurricane Irma:

It took me a while, but I KNEW I had this bingo card in the stash somewhere!

I used the 1 page sketch from Stick It Down:

Tinkerbell Magic Shot

Good morning all!  I'm so glad I have these Disney pics to work with!  We are in the process of planinng our next vacation and this will hold me over until then...I hope!

Here is a Magic Shot page I put together:

I used a few pieces of chipboard from Creative Embellishments.
Lots of Stickles to make them shine!
I also used Stickles around the edges of my papers and pics.
I am so happy with how this turned out!

The sketch I used is #335 from Sketches in Thyme:
