All about the Buttons!!

I LOVE playing with buttons!!! I was so happy to see this challenge at Scrap Whispers! They challenged us to use at least 20 buttons on our page! NOT a problem!
I didn't even count them all. I just put them wherever they seemed to fit.

This great sketch from Frosted Designs was my starting point for this page. I have so many pictures laying around, this was a great chance to finish them up.

I had these pretty papers from K&Company. I love all the fun designs, but hate covering them all up.
The stickers are all from Bo Bunny. I bought a ton of them when I found them on clearance at Hobby Lobby. I have about 20 different sets....and finally decided to start using them. :)

The sun was a chipboard piece that was hiding in the drawer. I used Tombow markers on it and added a bit of embroidery floss and another button. :)

I LOVE taking beach pictures! So sad that I don't have many left. At least Summer is on its way and it won't be long until I have lots more!

Bug Fest?? EEWW!!!

Thanks to The Paper Variety this week, I'm glad I had this fun sketch to work with. I'm been stuck with these pictures of my dd's and my sister eating chocolate covered bugs. I had no idea what to do with them....ick!
The buttons that they earned for completing the disgusting task weren't much help either. I understand that they want to make the buttons bright and colorful so everyone can see them, but really people....can you look at this from a scrapbooker's point of view??!! These colors are way too bright and almost impossible to work with!
I used some older papers from Stacy Claire Boyd for the background. It was the closest I had to "match" the button.
A few scraps and a few buttons here and there....
And a fun banner for the title. I just bought these chipboard banner pieces from Maya Road. I inked them up and them "stitched" them together with some purple embroidery floss. The letters are from Basic Grey and I used Tombow markers to color them. This also completes the Frosted Friday challenge which was to use a banner on your project. I'm not a big fan of banners, but this worked out well for the title. :)

Get Your Sketch On #11

I was led to a fun new site for sketch challenges! The site is "Get Your Sketch On". Being a total sketch-a-holic, I was so excited!
This is my first time participating and I fell in love with this sketch!
The best part was that I was able to pull out some oooollld papers and use them. Yay for Spring Cleaning!
The title and butterflies are from K&Company. I added some pop dots to them to give them a feeling of "flying" off the page.
I used some inks on the edges of all the pages to try and bring in the darker colors of the picture.
This is DD's Spring school picture from LAST year. She just took the new ones this Tuesday and I can't wait to work with them!
:)

Happy Saturday!!!

Just Dance

YAY for Wednesdays off!!! I get to scrap my little heart out today!!

Starting off today with a fun little sketch from Sketches in Thyme. This beauty came along just in time for Jennie's challenge at My Sketch World. Her challenge was to use 2x3 photos on your project. I recently cleaned out some boxes and found these fun pictures of my daughter when she was in dance school. She is NOT going to be happy! LOL! These were taken when she was about 6 years old.....she is turning 21 soon! I think I may torture her and put these on Facebook too! LOL!
Another great part about these pics is that they fit in perfectly with challenge #92 at Scrap Whispers. The theme of the challenge was "hip hopping". Let dancing inspire your project.
These papers are from the old stash from Stacy Claire Boyd.
The flowers were from the flower drawer along with a little flower chipboard.
I also stamped some smaller images of flowers on the background and added a few buttons. :)
My daughter is still sleeping...I wonder how long I can keep this up on Facebook before she makes me take it down...lol

Frosted Friday color challenge

I loved this color combo challenge from Frosted Designs. And luckily, I have plenty of stash to work with.
I wish I could get a better picture. I may have to retake this tomorrow when the light is better. I used a really old set from Heidi Grace. And tons of miscellaneous flowers from the stash. Even the letter stickers have been around for way too long. Spring Cleaning!!!!!

Sisters

I am losing the war against this head cold today. I was determined to work on something today, and not give in and go to bed.
I tried to combine a few things together...in case I am laid up for a few days and not able to work on anything. :(

I started out with sketch #67 from Inspired Blueprints. I had to flip the spot for the picture to make it work for me. I really need to order more prints!

One of my main goals this summer is to pull out out those great kits that I just HAD to buy and finally use them. This kit has been around for at least 2 - 3 years. It's from The Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby. I bought it on clearance for around $3! I loved the colors and obviously couldn't find the right pictures for it....until now. :)
I'm using this for the challenge at Scrap Your Stash. The challenge is called "Dust it Off". And I think this was buried under at least a half inch of dust. JK!! But I'm glad I was able to finally justify buying it. :)

The inspiration for the picture was challenge #93 from Scrap Whispers. The challenge was to use pictures that were just head shots or head and shoulders only. No background, no other elements. This picture of my 2 girls has always been one of my favorites. I never really cared for black and white photos, but I have to admit, the photographer did an amazing job with the photo shoot that day. New pictures are coming soon! :)

Now I'm off to take more meds and take a looong nap. :)

Shamrock Search Party

Sketchy Thursdays posted a fun 2 page layout this week. It worked great with these fun pictures from last year's Shamrock Search party. I needed the perfect multi-photo layout and this did the trick.
I finally had a great reason to use up some old stash too. These shamrock stickers and Jolee's St. Patrick's Day set came in handy.
I used a few pieces of scrap paper from Coredinations for my rainbow. I embossed some stars and other shapes onto the scraps and then sanded them all. Unfortunately, the embossing didn't show up so well, so I had to go over it with Tombow markers.

:)

Tough break!

Here is a quick card I made for the "Get Well" challenge from The Paper Variety! These older elements from Karen Foster came in handy after all!
It's time for some heavy duty Spring cleaning and this is just the start. :)

Glitter and Glam

I went a little crazy with my new Stickles today! :)

Challenge #39 from Scrapfit was to show them some Glitter and Glam.
I scrapped a few pictures from my daughter's Twilight birthday party last year.
The papers are from the new Immortal Love stack from DCWV.
The pictures are bordered with ribbon and then lots of Stickles.
The flowers are paper flowers from the dollar spot at Michael's. They were sprayed with Barn Red Glimmer Mist and then Stickled.
The border strip was a scrap that I used my newest Fiskars border punch on. Then I Stickled each little opening.
The rhinestone swirly bling is from Prima. And I added more of the same flowers. :)
I used a gorgeous sketch from Sketches in Thyme.
The picture really isn't showing all the sparkle, but I just noticed I have Stickles on my keyboard! Sooo...I guessed I glammed up my laptop too! :)

Think Green!

Wow...I'm finally scrapping again!! I haven't been near my stash in what seems like forever!
Now that I think I have my mojo back....here is a fun, colorful page for St. Patrick's Day.

The Paper Variety is having a "Let's See Your Green" Blog Hop! As long as you use at least 50% green on your project, you're in the running for a great prize! There were so many great pages! And they all weren't just for St. Patrick's Day....tons of inspiration!

The picture on the left is of the waterfall at a nearby nature preserve. Every year, on St. Patrick's Day, they dye the waterfall green. It is soooo pretty! This picture is one of about a dozen that I took. I was able to catch lots of pictures as the dye slowly progressed down the falls.
I hand cut the die cut shapes myself. The "lace" at the bottom is a felt border, with ribbon and shamrock accents on it.

I used a great sketch from Frosted Designs to work with. :)
This sketch was so pretty and I don't have any Spring photos yet! It started snowing again this morning... :(
