Be filled with Joy

Good morning!!!  I'm stalling going out to the shed to start bringing in the Christmas decorations....

I  know I really want to get the majority up today, but my scrap desk was calling me!

I had pulled out all of my scrap stash to get ready for Christmas pages.
These pictures are from last year.
I have pics from 2015 to work on!

Here is the color palette from Lasting Memories that inspired me:

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I thought this 2 pager was appropriate to work on the day before Thanksgiving.

This was from last year.
We won't be getting together like this for this year.
So glad I was able to score lots of pictures from the family.

I added a few hexagons for the Studio Challenges idea for the November challenge.
I inked all of the edges and then proceeded to cover most of them up with other embellishments...lol.

Here is the sketch from Sketches in Thyme #444 that inspired me.

I'm not usually a fan of 2 page layouts, but since I had so many pictures that were pretty similar, it worked perfectly.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving this year!   Stay safe

Family - Thanksgiving

I love that I have so many pictures form Thanksgiving!  I usually don't take many pictures but having the whole family together and EVERYONE having a camera - it makes for many photo ops!

I used up a few more of these veneer leaves I found at Michael's.

Here is sketch #446 from Sketches in Thyme that inspired my page:

Pool Party

Since I am not ready for Winter yet,  I was so happy to see this distraction from the new challenge at Cookin' Up Creations.

The challenge was to lift this page from the gallery by BarbP:

We also had to use a water / beach / pool theme.
I had these great pics from a pool party we had over the summer.
We weren't able to have many, so we made sure this was a good one!

I played along with the Tic Tac Toe challenge from Use Your Stuff too:

I went across the bottom - any sketch - Brads/ bling - design paper.

The sketch I used is from Sketch N Scrap:

Take time...

I have been glued to the computer watching Season 4 of The Crown!  So while I watch, I play.

Tonight's project was brought to you by the wonderful challenges from Scrap Our Stash:

I used bits and pieces of a paper pad from One Canoe Two - Willow.
The watercolor paper is mostly hidden behind my title.
I used some chipboard bits from Creative Embellishments - all painted white.
For the circle element in the sketch, I used a doily and added a circle cut from the same patterned papers.

Time for a another episode!

Unbelievably Blessed

Now I wish I had taken more Fall pictures this year.  With all this rain and high winds, there are no more leaves left on the trees.

I had this huge leaf that I found at Michael's a long time ago that I added behind my picture.
In the Fall clearance section at Hobby Lobby, I was lucky enough to find these awesome burlap doilies and tags.
I added a big of burlap ribbon and a strip of wood scrap paper.

My title was inspired by this challenge from Scrap Our Stash:

It also reminded me that I bought those burlap doilies...lol.

Here is the sketch I used from Sketches in Thyme #445:

You Are Magical

Just when I thought I was done with purples, I run across these pretty flowers.

It's so fun having such a photogenic daughter.
I pulled out the envelope with the purple scraps, and used some bits of ribbon.
These flowers are all a mix of collections from 49 and Market, and Little Birdie.

Here is the one photo sketch I used from Sketch N Scrap #213:

Autumn

I LOVE the colors of this time of year!  Unfortunately, I don't get to take many pictures anymore.

We recently went to visit my daughter at college and they have TONS of beautiful trees on campus.  Luckily, she is at that time in her life where she lives in front of a camera.

I used 3 different patterned papers and my circle cutter to put this together.
I stenciled the "twigs" with some paints to match the title.
These owls were in the Fall stash - I don't know why they look angry...lol

Here is the inspirational picture from Lasting memories #524:

Let it Snow

I really need to focus on using up my scraps.  I tend to save every little piece of patterned paper I have.

The Studio Challenges has a challenge this month to use 5 patterned papers.

I dusted off my Coluzzle cutting system to cut these diamonds out of all scraps.

These papers are from Heidi Grace from YEARS ago.
I love that some are glittery and some are flocked.
Must have flocked papers for snow pages...lol.

Glad to wipe out some of the scraps!

ISU Acceptance Letter

I love that not only do I save pretty much everything, I was actually able to find it in less than 5 minutes!

I had saved my daughter's acceptance letter for college.

And of course, when I went to visit her, we took a tour of the campus and I took tons of pics.

I loved this sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:

I was able to find just the right patterned paper that I could split.
These colors are so pretty.
I added many different styles of flowers.
I had a few denim flowers and added some buttons to the centers.

And now I have one more piece of memorabilia that I can take off of my list of things to add to the scrapbook!

Musical Kid

I figured I would try to catch up on last years band pics, considering we will not be having band this year.

I used up lots of music paper scraps.

Here is the inspiration - a sketch from Sketches in Thyme #443:

I used my large circle punch and some gold Stickles for some accents.
It's just hard to get good pics of the golds.

What a Lovely Day

I found this picture of my daughters and my oldest daughter's bridal shower.

The flower in her corsage matched the color challenge from Lasting Memories:

I used 4 different misting sprays on my background.
I then added some thin washi tape.
I'm not a big fan of this really thin stuff.
I then used a mat stack from DCWV that had this perfect peacock theme.
I pulled out the punches for all of my circles.
I made sure to punch out a peacock feather image.
While I was searching for the perfect title, I ran across a little bag of feathers.
Luckily, I had just the right colors left.

Woodstock

I forgot I had these pictures from our trip to Cedar Point last year!!

I remember these pictures when I was working on one of this month's challenges from Cookin' Up Creations.

November brings so many events and opportunities for us to gather — Thanksgiving, football games, parties, and parades.

When we imagine “gathering together,” The Peanuts Gang immediately comes to mind.

Join us all month long as we challenge you to complete your own layouts about coming together . . . with a Peanuts twist!

Stop by and check it out!!

The sketch challenge for today is here:

I pulled out some 6x6 pads with stripes and dots for a whimsical twist.

The stripes idea is also from Use Your Stuff.

I still have a few more character pics to play with this month too!

Friends in Scouting

Since they started letting girls join Scouts, I have been enjoying going to the events.  Girls are so much more willing to let me take pics!

This was so fun to put together.
I am in love with these plaid papers!
It was hard to cut into them.
I added a strip of mini washi tape, hand cut my circle and added some raffia.
Here is the sketch I used for this month's Scrappy Friends challenge from Rochelle:

For Stacy's Scrappy Friends challenge, she offered this Tic Tac Toe board:

I went across the middle:

Mighty #21

Just when I think I'm done with baseball pics, I find a few more.  I need to be more selective in which ones I scrap.  Right now, I have soooo many baseball pages.  But they are all such great pics!

Multi photo sketches are always a great thing when I have so many pictures to work with.
This sketch # 212 from Sketch N Scrap was perfect for a few more.

I put together this fun shaker box from Creative Embellishments.
I painted the frames navy and white and added glitter, beads and star confetti.

STRIKE!!

Now that baseball season is over, we move on to my son's second favorite sport - bowling.

He is really good for his age.  His average is already a 175 and he's being recruited by the High School coaches.

Here is a picture of him and his personal best series score of 632!!

I used some patterned papers from a few different 6x6 pads, some enamel dots and a fun paper piecing that I bought a while ago.

I was inspired by this color palette from Challenge Up Your Life:

Here is the sketch I used for this page:

Happy Days

 Good Sunday morning!!

I'm finally starting to feel like myself again!  I'm hoping to get this month started on the right path.

Here is my first page for the new month:

I used the ephemera package from Cocoa Daisy's Daydream line for my embellishments.
This came to mind as soon as I saw the color challenge from Lasting Memories:

Here is the sketch I used for my starting point.:
