SOUS sketch challenge :)

I love working with pretty sketches! Stuck On U Sketches never fails to provide great inspiration.

This is a picture of my "baby" when she was about 9 months old. I used up so many bits and pieces of scraps, I don't even know where to begin to list them all.

The most memorable part of this page is sticking my finger into the wet Stickles...again. And while I was inking the edges of the cardstock, I dropped the dark pink ink pad onto my white pants...and I leave in about 3 minutes for a birthday party. :(

Getting Ready for Fall

I woke up this morning and almost wanted to put on jeans and a sweatshirt! I don't know why I thought it was Fall already. I stepped outside and was slapped with a rude awakening....hot, humid, and yucky. There goes the sweatshirt....

I started working on this one last night. This WAS for the Guest Design Team spot at Sketchy Thursdays. I loved all the little circles, knew exactly what I was going to do, and managed to finish it up before bed.

This morning, I took my pictures and was getting ready to post....THAT's when I checked the Sketchy Thursday site again. Not only was it a fun sketch....they asked that you use a Reading theme. DUH! This is the second time I have done this! I always see the sketch and start planning and THEN finish reading the post. (kicks self)!!!

Anyway....it was still a fun sketch to work with. I did NOT mat my photos! A very rare occassion for me! The circle part was fun!! Whenever I end up cutting down larger photos, I always save the scraps of the backgrounds. These circles were cut from leftover pieces from last year's Fall pictures. I didn't have the heart to throw away all those fun bits and pieces of hay and straw. I knew they would come in handy some day. :)

The pumpkins are fun felt pieces from Michael's. I love the stitching on them and chose to use that throughout the layout. I outlined stitching on some of the circles and around my bigger pictures.

For an additional element, I added some scraps of fibers. This isn't burlap, but I can't think of what it's called right now...it's early...brain still sleeping...

Going for more coffee now.....

The Beauty of Peacocks

I'm trying a new challenge this week. Die Cuts With a View has a template challenge each month. All you have to do is follow the template and use one of their stacks. Since I have quite a few of them, I thought why not dive in and give it a shot.

I used a much older stack called All Dressed Up. I love these bright blue and green colors and the added black is just so rich.

I used an exacto knife to cut along the swirls on the left side of the patterned paper so that it overlayed onto the photo.

The ribbons along the bottom is also from the same collection. I had just a few pieces leftover...still cleaning out the older stash. :)

I cut a circle from white paper and used blue and green Glimmer Mist and then went over it a bit with Shimmer Stickles. A last minute decision was to add black Stickles around the edges of the circle. This was quite tricky, as I have a tendency to put my fingers in it before it dries. I also tend to wipe my Stickles fingers on my jeans, so at least they will sparkle till laundry day.

When I was sorting through the fibers drawer the other day, I found this bag of peacock feathers. PERFECT addition to the page! They were small, colorful and fun!

To finish it all off, I found just the right letters needed to make my title from Thickers. It's getting trickier and trickier as my supply dwindles....

Flowers in August

This has to be my favorite layout of the day! This fun sketch is the August sketch challenge at My Sketch World. I love all the smaller photos!!

The papers are from Die Cuts With a View - All Dressed Up Stack from a long time ago. Love all the colors and the photos were perfect! The brads are also from the same set. :)

The flowers are from an old lei that I took apart. I added some new buttons to the centers. I love that I was able to use them instead of hoarding them. This was great for the flower challenge for ScrapFit Weekend Warmup #11. :)

The cute little butterflies are from a small sticker sheet I have been hanging on to. I put pop dots on them to make them "fly" off the page. The title was from a set from K&Company.

I cannot believe how much old stash I have been using! I love it!

Sooo....I would be justified going shopping....right???

Spinning in circles...

The hubby keeps teasing me about another trip to Disney soon...

For me, it's just not soon enough! I have to relive past trips by scrapping the pictures in order to get my Disney fix.

The Paper Variety has a new challenge which was to use more than 4 circles. I had these really fun circle stickers from Creative Imaginations Magic Collection. They are perfect for any Disney project. The red scalloped circle I had to cut by hand. I scored the scallops and gave them a quick brush with some black ink. The cute little Mickey heads are paint chips from Home Depot. And I went shopping the other day to restock the button stash, so I am happy to be able to add some to all my projects now. :)

This great sketch is #94 from Lets Capture These Sketches. Beautiful sketch and the elements I had in my mind were perfect!

My little guy saw this picture and threw a fit that he wasn't in it. He has a real hard time believing that I would even think about going to Disney without him. I was pregnant with him at the time....hiding my big belly behind my daughter....lol. So technically, he was there....just try to convince him of that!

Scrapping the Oldies

Lots of fun challenges at My Sketch World this month!

The first is from Cindy. Her challenge was to scrap the oldies! I found this picture of my youngest dd when she was about 6 months old. She is going to be 10 in October!

The sketch is #231 from Sketch Inspiration. I love that I had this chipboard frame just calling out to be colored and put to use. It's from a kit from Colorbok. The papers and elements are from an oooollld kit that I couldn't part with. I cut out some of the flowers from the patterned paper and scored them so they would stand out a bit. A few pearls and some pearly bling finished it off.

Rainy Saturdays are for Scrapping!

Lots of fun inspiration this month! I noticed quite a few fun sketches, different techniques and a few other fun things I can't wait to try out.

This was the Tuesday Trigger photo from Moxie Fab World. I love all the fun colors. The page kit from Bella Blvd - Estate Sale was perfect for this layout. All of the colors were right there in the collection. Who could ask for an easier project??

The sketch I chose to work with is this week's challenge at Sketchy Thursdays. I had to run out to buy a new Glimmer Mist....which of course, they didn't have the color I really wanted, so I settled. The photo was matted in different cardstock and then adhered to a chipboard mat. I cut the mat down (it was originally from a mini album) and then I used a fun Acrylic Paint Dabber on it to make it that pretty distressed pink. The journaling pocket was sprayed with Glimmer Mist also.

Some of the fun elements I used are some scrap pieces of Magic Mesh and a few nautical charms. I remember when this stuff was sooo popular and I had to have it all. Now I just have to make sure I use it all!

I really love this kit and the fun colors. And I am so glad that there is still much more to play with. :)

It's still raining and miserable humid outside. Guess I will be here all day playing...oh darn...don't feel too sorry for me.... :)
