Last Thyme this year....

I have so much fun working with Sketches in Thyme each week. This was the last sketch I had to work with for this year. I can't wait to see what next year is going to bring!
The black and white patterned paper is from Imaginisce To Love and Cherish collection.
All of the flowers came from the stash drawer. I know I bought the big ones from Michael's during a huge Spring sale last year. I'm getting anxious for this year's sale too! Gotta restock all those beautiful flowers!

January Sketch-a-thon!

This could be fun! Check out this site and join in on the fun!!! I'm addicted to sketches and I'm really looking forward to getting more pictures scrapped!

Frosted Flakes...

I switched out pictures for this sketch about 6 times before I finally settled on this cute little picture of my cousin's daughter. :)
This fun sketch is by Debbie Burns at Frosted Designs.
I used a brown marker on blue background paper to make a little border. The ribbon is from the stash. It took me a while to find it...guess I need to shop for more ribbon. :)
The stickers are from Bo Bunny.
The two big snowflakes are wooden accent pieces from Michael's. I added a little bit of snowflake bling to the centers. The smaller snowflakes are foam pieces, also from Michael's. I sprayed them with a little bit of Glimmer Mist and added bling to them also.
Behind the photo is big piece of mulberry paper that I tore to add a little something to the page. It's hard to see, but in person, it looks great! I may take a better picture later...I gotta go do that work thing today... :(

Have a great day!!! Looking forward to nothing but scrapping this weekend!!!!

Sassy Disney Christmas

Love how this page turned out! I started off with a great sketch from Sassy Lil' sketches. The bottom "photo" was a tag from the tree skirt I bought last year. I alternated punched circles and Disney stamps to make the outer circle. The bottom embellishment is another inked doily, with some dollar spot flowers and a Mickey head from my big punch. The title came from a set of letters from Colorbok from Target. :)

More December pages...

The two men in my life playing in the snow. I love this nature preserve. It is absolutely gorgeous in the winter. The sketch is from the December 21st reveal from Sassy Lil' Sketches.
I bought this border punch a few weeks ago and I am in love with it! The flower was handmade by my co-worker and I. We had some downtime at work and after watching a tutorial, we decided to give it a shot. We made a few of them and I'm still waiting for just the right page to put them on. :)

A fun sketch from Inspired Blueprints - #62. Again I used my new favorite border punch on gold paper to make the outline for the image on the right. I used some gold ink, a gold marker and some gold glitter to dress up my doily. I have some quick dry glue and it works amazing on glitter pages! I only have to wait 10 minutes instead of an hour. I outlined the red background in my gold marker and then made lots of dots. The stickers and other embellishments were laying around in the Christmas box screaming for attention. Now they have a place to show themselves off. :)

Let's Scrap DT Reveal

You just have to check out what the DT has done with this week's sketch at Let's Scrap! I'm still working on Christmas, but a few of the ladies will really get you in the mood for Spring and Summer!
I am sooo glad I saved a few days of vacation for the end of the year! I managed to scrap just about all of my photo Christmas Cards from last year...and have a new stack from this year!
I'm addicted to doilies....again. I started inking them up with a few different colors. They make a gorgeous background for all the poinsettia flowers from Michael's. And I used a bunch of scraps of Christmas papers from the stash.
Just a few more pages and last year's Christmas pictures will be finished! Just in time for this year's stack to be delivered. :)

Have a great day!

Creative Scrappers #136

A fun page using sketch #136 from Creative Scrappers! I glimmer misted the outer edge of the paper. The red and green squares are cut from a glitter sheet from DCWV. Most of the candy cane embellishments are from the dollar spot at Target. Gotta love those $1 deals!
And this is our Christmas card from LAST year...lol

Christmas and Winter pages

It feels so good to be able to get back into scrapping again! I think I made a dent in all the Christmas supplies I bought!

Here is a two-pager I made for Inspired Blueprints #61. This gorgeous ribbon was from a gift I had received from my scrapping co-worker. She knew what she was doing when she wrapped my gift. :)
I used some gold paper and my border punch to make the designs down the sides and the for the banners. The different tags were from the dollar spot at Michael's last year. And that adorable Santa title was from Jolee's.
I found this sheet of sticker titles in the clearance section. Some of them were hilarous! I can't wait to use the rest of them!

This second page is for a great sketch from Creative Scrappers #135. More gorgeous ribbon that has been in the stash forever! The giant snowflake is a wooden accent piece from Michael's, along with all the foam snowflakes.
The doilies were inked with different Studio G colors (also from Michael's).
I love this color combo!!

Sooo many more pictures to play with! Gotta keep the mojo moving! :)

Lots of Christmas pages!!

I love that my kids sleep late on Christmas morning! That means I get some "me" time! I feel like all I have been doing is accumulating Christmas scrapping goodies and not using them. Well, I tried my best to fix that problem and I'm not stopping now! I'm lucky enough to have tomorrow off too!
Today, when they finally wake up, I am taking everyone outside to build me a HUGE snowman! We haven't been able to do that for years due to lousy weather. So today...that will be fixed! I"m soooo excited!!!
So here is what I have been working on lately....

This is a GORGEOUS sketch by Suepup at Stuck on U Sketches. GORGEOUS!! This one probably took the longest to do, but it was FUN! I used a chipboard border along the outside. I covered it in Stickles and set it aside to dry for a while. Then I added red glitter to the outside of the doily and had to wait for that too. So we went to the in-laws for Christmas...lol. By the time I got home, everything was set and I was ready to finish. I used some handmade sparkly paper for the photo mat and distressed the edges a bit. The background paper has a slight shimmer to it and I gave it a quick mist with a light blue spray. Next, I went a little crazy with some ZVA swirly bling in red and blue, added lots of flowers and a few snowflakes. The title came from Jolee's and the journal spot was printed out by me. :)
I'm also submitting this one for Frosted Designs challenge this week. The challenge was to use a Christmas song. The whole time I was working on this, I would swear this title said Jingle Bells! Which is the song that they were singing with Santa. :)
This had to be my most favorite page of the weekend! I just love the way it sparkles!
This week at Sketches in Thyme we were able to use any sketch we chose. Since this page is going to be on display on my desk for a while, I'm glad I could play along with the wonderful ladies on the DT! :)

Next I have a quick page I did for the December 7th sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches. I used lots of papers from a kit I found last year in the Dollar Spot at Target. The title was made from Colorbok letters and some Jolee's stickers.

Sketchy Thursdays offered up a "secret" sketch for Facebook Fans this week...shhh....
I love scrapping family photo Christmas cards! I saved them all from last year and boy, did they come in handy! More Dollar Spot papers and a few miscellaneous embellishments. The ribbon is from the stash and the holly is a wooden accent piece from Michael's. :)

As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew I had the perfect photo! Another Christmas card from last year! More Dollar Spot papers! And a great sketch from Stuck?! And I am addicted to these blooms from Michael's! I bought tons of them on clearance! I can't wait to see the family's reaction when they see what I've done with their cards!

Thanks for looking!! I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays!!! I'm off to build my snowman and then work on more Christmas pages. I have to use up this stuff I bought...I have no place to put it! LOL!
Have a great day!!!

More snow pics...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE taking really nice pictures of the snow! The only problem is right after it snows, the temps usually drop to below zero. Umm...pictures just seem that important when it's that cold!
These are pictures from the local Nature Preserve last year. It's such a beautiful place to go any time of year.
I used a gorgeous sketch from Frosted Designs and beautiful chipboard pieces from Bo Bunny Midnight Frost.

It's so nice to finally have some "me" time...even if it is only for an hour.

:)

Creative Scrappers #134

Love this sketch from Creative Scrappers! I'm starting to run out of pictures to work with some of these sketches. Luckily, I found a stack of last year's Christmas cards. I love photo cards of all my family and friends. Seeing them grow each year is the best!
This photo is of my best friend's two kids. I sent her the picture of the layout with a comment and how they "used" to get along...lol.
Great kids and a great photo!
I used up lots of OLD stash. This is mostly from the Heidi Grace Sugar Plum Forest collection from years ago.
TFL!

Lots of presents...

...and lots more pictures scrapped! So excited to be getting these done,...until I look at the rest of the stack. Why isn't it getting smaller??!!
Lots of bits and pieces from the Christmas box and another great multi-photo sketch from Creative Scrappers - #132. :)

Merry and Bright

These are SOME of the pictures from a crazy Christmas house in a neighboring town. I love this Donald Duck sticker and I can imagine the homeowner doing this...lol.
I used sketch #133 from Creative Scrappers. :)

Candy Cane Hunt

Last one for today! I can't believe I actually managed to get some scrapping done today! I'm so excited about being able to do more this weekend!
I did this page for the sketch challenge for Sketchy Thursdays.
I couldn't even begin to give a realistic list of supplies. Everything just came from the stash.
I went through the Christmas box and ended up spending an hour sorting out Christmas stuff from Winter stuff. I realized I have too much of both....is that really possible??

Have a good night! :)

Just when I thought I was done...

I really have a lot of stuff to do today, but I can't seem to tear myself away from my desk!
This week's sketch challenge from Sketches in Thyme was quite different. I had no idea how I wanted to work this one out. I tried and tried and feel that I strayed quite a ways from the original sketch, but they are supposed to be inspiration, right?
I used my son's letter from Santa on the whole page. After it came in the mail, I asked him to sit in front of the tree so I can get some cool pics. Instead of cut circles, I used lots of bling.
The embellishments were mostly found in the dollar section at Michael's. These are actually gift tags that I changed a bit with more bling.

My daughter doesn't get home from school for at least another hour, so I may be able to start on another project....gotta love vacation time!

SOUS - NO sketch???

What do you mean, "no sketch"??!! I"m addicted to sketches! I NEED sketches!! How am I supposed to do a challenge without a sketch??
StuckonUSketches has another fun challenge this time around. All we had to do was use die cut papers from Bo Bunny...but no sketch.
I had a few pieces to choose from so I pulled everything out and spread it all around. So here I was, trying to figure out papers and embellishments and such, with no sketch!
Can you tell I really started relying on sketches??!
Anyway....
I stared at all my Bo Bunny goodness, not having a clue on what I wanted to do. I finally figured out, maybe I should choose some pictures to work with BEFORE I start picking out papers!
The second I ran across this pretty picture of a butterfly, I knew I had the right papers to use.
I still had lots of goodies from Kitchen Spice leftover. I had the perfect die cut paper and lots of leftover paper pieces. I triple matted the photo in Kitchen Spice leftovers. I added a piece of felt leaf border down the right side and then added some Prima flowers. The flowers just happened to be the right colors and also have cute little polka dots on them that matched the papers. A few gems and bling added to the flowers finished up that side.
Another half hour went by before I finally decided on a title. I ran across this title sticker from K&Company that also was the right color and had polka dots too.
I can't believe how lucky I got using the Bo Bunny papers and a really cool mix of things from the stash.
I think I'm getting my mojo back!
Just in time to get back to work...yuck....

Noel

I feel like I haven't scrapped in months! I decided today was the day I was going to accomplish something!
Here is a sketch from Stuck?! I used a couple of doilies that I inked a little bit. The poinsettias are from Michael's. At this time of year, you can get zillions of them dirt cheap! I think I need white ones, so I may run out today....shhh.
The ribbon is from the stash and the title is chipboard letters from Colorbok.
:)
I wish I could say I have my mojo back, but I need to get a few other things done around here before I can sit and scrap all day.

Sassy Lil Santa

Okay, maybe he's not so sassy...but this sketch is! The sketch is from Sassy Lil' Sketches. I've been fighting off the winter blues and haven't been scrapping much lately. I had the papers down, the pictures down...the embellishments were giving me a hard time. So there it sat...on my desk...for a whole week!
I just bought a whole bunch of new Christmas goodies...(shhhh!!!). I ended up using a whole mixture of everything. From Brenda Walton to the dollar spot at Michael's and back to the stash.
Hopefully, I will get my mojo back and keep at this stack of pictures!
:)

Frosted Designs on Tuesday

I love that I scheduled almost every Tuesday off for the rest of the year! Frosted Designs sketch challenges keep me busy and challenged. I'm still sticking to my goal to finish last year's Christmas pictures and so far, so good. This pic is part of the Disney Cruise album. We went at a time when the terminal was just being decorated for Christmas. This beautiful tree was the first thing we saw when we got off the escalator. :)
Materials used:
EK Success border punch
Mickey Head punch
Mickey head brad stickers
Mickey Christmas ribbon
and a little ZVA pearl flourish

:)

Stuck on U Sketches -more christmas...

I almost strayed....
I almost pulled out something else other than Christmas pictures....
I had the pics on my desk, searching through papers...when I found MORE Christmas paper!
I slapped myself on the wrist and put everything away and went right back to the Christmas stack. Of course, now I had new papers to play with, so it was so hard to do.
This beautiful sketch is from Stuck on U Sketches. Soooo pretty and fun to play with!! I wish I had more Spring pictures to work with...oh well. This one is definitely saved for later too!

I pulled out the new Wintertime kit from Echo Park. Love all the fun papers! After I cut out the center piece, I outlined it in marker to make it stand out a little more.
The doily was inked and sprayed with Frost Shimmer Mist.
And all the fun stickers are from the same Echo Park kit.

This is also for a fun challenge at Sketches in Thyme. They are hosting an "open sketch" challenge. Share your favorite sketches and projects this week!

And 3 more pictures down...
Okay, their not so much Christmas pics, but LAST year's winter pics need to be done too!

:)

Jolly Holidays!

Sticking to the plan to finish up last year's Christmas pictures....

Sketchy Thursdays offered this great sketch for a 5x7 photo. I noticed most of my pictures have a lot of gold in them. This gold embossed paper by Anna Griffin is just too gorgeous! The stars and medallions were a sweet score from Michael's last night. :)

We are heading out to see the new Harry Potter movie today! Have a great evening! :)

working on Christmas

I was sorting through all my pictures and just now realized how many pictures I still have from LAST year! This is so not me! I'm usually not this far behind....hmmm.....
So it was a good excuse to get out yesterday and take advantage of all the sales and stock up on Christmas goodies. Then I came home and did some shopping online...sshhh....
Yes! I made the day all about me! Is it wrong??!!

This sketch is from Sweet Peach Crop Shop. Love multi photo sketches! Heck, I just love sketches! Whether it's for a rak, or just for fun....show me the sketches!!

So here were are....2 pictures done. Everyone is still sleeping so I'm going to tackle this stack and see what else I can accomplish today.

Don't forget about the Sketches4all Blog Hop! The Hop ends tomorrow, but the fun in the forum continues till December 5th! Lots of fun and prizes!

Creative Scrappers Sketch #131

Totally fun sketch!! #131 from Creative Scrappers!
I used some papers from Fancy Pants Like Father, Like Son collection. The colors went so well together. I wish my picture taking showed that better.

:)

Stuck??!!

It's hard to believe that this trip was a year ago! We had such an amazing time! And the best (or not so best) part is that I still haven't finished scrapping all of the pictures. So every now and then I get to relive the best parts of the trip.
Here is a project from a Stuck??! sketch.
I misted the background paper a little bit. I used my latest border punch to make "waves" and then tucked the laser title into them a bit. All of the Disney elements are actually tattoos that the kids had gotten in their goodie bags. I was surprised at how well they turned out on the page....total experiment! My Mickey didn't turn out so well...I didnt' realize how transparent they really were. He should have gone on a white background first. Oh well...next time...there are still plenty of pictures to work with!
:)

Let' Scrap 11-24-10 Reveal

It's time for the 11-24-10 Let's Scrap Design Team Reveal!
I am having so much fun working with the whole team!
I have to admit, the best part of working on this page was finally getting to use an old Reminisce kit! I really really really had to have this whole collection....and there it sat....in the corner...for a couple of years....
Well, I decided to dust it all off and put it to good use. And then...half way through the page, I realized how many other things needed dusting off.
I have a whole drawer filled with slide mounts. When they were popular, I had to have them in every color available.
The adorable animals peeking out of the slide mounts are from Jolee's, way back when...
I inked up some Thickers letters for the title.
Also added were some buttons and a few pieces of jute and a few strips of crepe paper.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
Don't forget to take lots of pictures!!

:)

A day at the Beach..

I feel like this page has been on my desk forever....
This sketch is from Sassy Lil' Sketches. I had all the squares cut and measured last week. Then it was another day or two for me to decided how to distress them all. I used a few different patterns from my Fiskars embossing templates. The papers were from Core'dinations, so after they were embossed, they were sanded down to show off the color core.
All of the stickers were from Bo Bunny. :)
I'm asking Santa for more buttons... I *heart* buttons!
I'm also entering this into this week's challenge from Frosted Designs, which was to use a distressing technique.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Haunts for Hunger

Our village has an annual parade throughout the neighborhood gathering donations for our local food pantry. It's put together by our police department and our church. We meet outside the church, dressed in our scariest and wait for our escort. His name is BOB and he is an 8 foot zombie...lol. We were also supposed to be escorted by an antique hearse, but they never showed up. :(
Before we even left the church, the neighbors came out and donated tons of food! We didn't even get started and everything here was already collected.
Bob finally made his way to the church (zombies aren't really fast movers), and we started our parade. Everyone came out to hand off donations to the police officers. To make the parade more fun for the kids, we had a scavenger hunt. We were given a list of the award winning scariest decorated houses and we had to find them. Once we got to the houses, there were candy and goodies for the kids, along with a huge donation for the cause. We had an amazing time! The kids didn't even realize how many miles we walked. The only downside was when the rain came. But even that didn't stop us! Zombies still walk in the rain too!
Afterwards, the church had a little reception for all the parade participants. Neighbors donated juice and home baked goods for everyone. It was a really fun time and all for a good cause!
This picture was featured in our local newspaper. :)

The sketch is from Sketches in Thyme this week. Whenever I see circles, I always think water pages...I don't know why. But I didn't have any, so it took me a while to put something together. This was all done with a hodge podge of goodies from the Halloween box. I printed out the title myself and tore and inked it up.
Thanks for looking!

More Pumpkin Patch fun!!

It's a new week at Sketchy Thursdays!
Just when I thought I was done with Fall pictures and can start focusing on Christmas, this photo popped up and begged to be scrapped.
Again I used lots of bits and pieces from Imaginisce Apple Cider collection. Love when I can make use of little scraps instead of throwing them away.
I used some strips of burlap or canvas or whatever that stuff is behind the photos....lol.
The photo mat was distressed a little bit.
The sticker set came from Me and My Big Ideas Soft Spoken at Michael's.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Frosted Designs #2

I love playing along with all the challenges at Frosted Designs! I was so happy when they started having sketch challenges! For the first challenge, my page made Top 3! I proudly display my new badge on the left!
Sketch #2 was just as much fun! I used lots of bits and pieces from Cloud 9 kit I found at Joann's.
I added a few buttons, paper flowers and some ric rac. I also dabbled in a little bit of misting on some of the pieces.
:)

So delicate...

Can you tell by my layouts that I LOVE taking tons of pictures of butterflies? I usually go to the Butterfly Festival and the Butterfly Garden at the zoo every year. They are the most cooperative animals ever! And when the sun is shining...they perform and show off so much. They are so beautiful!!!
So I used yet another 5 x 7 picture for this beautiful sketch from Stuck on U Sketches. I'm not sure I like my cluster of flowers. I kinda used a hodge podge of everything I found in my flower drawer.
The patterned papers and the butterflies pieces are all from Basic Grey's Ambrosia collection. The big one is a chipboard piece and the smaller ones were cut from the patterned papers. I used pop dots on them to give them dimension. Again, my lousy picture taking abilities doesn't show that so well.
I used an 8 inch doily for behind the picture. I used Tim Holtz distressing inks on the whole thing. :)
The title was put together with the very few letters I have left over from Basic Grey Chocolate Chip alphas.
I'm just happy that I was able to put this whole page together using old goodies!! When they pictures came in the mail, my first thought was YEAH!! I get to go shopping!!
Oh well...maybe for next year's festival....
:)

The gorgeous ribbon of flowers across the bottom is from Prima.

Children of the Corn

This was sooo much fun to work with!
Let's start with this great sketch from Sketchy Thursdays! I didn't have 3 pictures to work with so I decided to add a shaker box for the third spot. I used some corn that I had...umm..."borrowed"... from the corn pit. Actually, I think it was found in the kids' pockets and shoes when we got home. The fibers behind the shaker box were taken from a piece of fabric I used on a previous page. The "raffia" is strips of paper that I had crinkled up and inked myself. I added a few pieces of corn to the centers. The letters are Chocolate Chip from Basic Grey. The background piece in the center is DCWV. A little bit of tearing and inking on the photo mats...
I had so much fun!
The title was inspired by a challenge from Scrap Whispers. The challenge was to create a project using a title from a favorite scary movie. It's hard to think scary looking at these two cuties! But when I was flipping through the pictures, these jumped out at me immediately!
TFL!!

Sketchy Thursdays GDT sketch

This was inspired by the sketch for the Guest Designer Spot at Sketchy Thursdays. This was soooo difficult!! Quite the challenge! The hardest part was finding pics that could be cut to the right size and shape.
I used a misted doily for behind the pics. I also added some miscellaneous flowers and buttons. :)

Thyme for more sketches!

I had fun with this sketch from Sketches in Thyme! Even my DD came out of her "cave" to offer some constructive criticism. When I work on pictures of her, she feels she can do that...WTH??
The paper is from Stacy Claire Boyd
Letters are K&Company
Miscellaneous chipboard circles, flowers and buttons...and some ribbons..lol.
:)

Hippity Hop Blog Hop!!

Playing along with The Hippity Hop Blog Hop this weekend! All the info can be found down below this post! Enjoy! This was fun and challenging!

For the recipe I used:
3 different kinds of ribbons
I also used 3 different sized butterflies
embossing on some of the squares,
then I inked them up to show the embossing
lace ribbons
and of course, the great sketch!

The Hippity Hop is a recipe challenge hop. It starts right here, right now and ends at 9 P.M. on Sunday, November 14th. You'll need to visit each challenge blog. You will get an element at each of the 5 blogs, Sassy Lil' Sketches (you are here), Scrap Fit, Crop Suey, Scrap Tiffany and The Cuttlebug Spot. Using the elements create a layout or card and post it to all 5 blogs for a chance to win up to 5 times.

Stuck on this Sketch

I've been staring at this sketch for what seems like forever! I picked out the picture and still couldn't come up with anything.
I finally went with a collection from Colorbok. Loved the colors of the set and they seemed to go well with the picture. Now if I could only get a decent picture of the page....
This is the first sketch of the month from Stuck?! Sketches.
:)

Dare to be Squared

A fun challenge from Rosey over at Sketches4All! Dare to be squared! I used a great sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches which incorporated lots of little squares.
We also had to use a border punch - bling - embellies - buttons - 2 colors. - whew...there was more, but I think I was able to include it all.
The sketch was a lot of fun too. I was able to use up lots of little pieces from an old Colorbok kit. The wine embellies were cut from a sheet from Karen Foster.
The title was a chipboard piece also from Karen Foster.

Frosted 8 x 10

This week's challenge from Frosted Designs was to use large photos on your page. 8 x 10 photos are the hardest for me to work with because there isn't much room left to do anything. And of course, all the photos I have can't really be cut down any smaller. That's the problem with professional photos when they add their own mats.
I crumpled up my background paper a bit and swiped an ink pad across it.
Then I took the photo mat (the light colored one), tore the edges, sanded them a bit, and inked them up.
I love this fish netting stuff and I really need to add it to the shopping list!
The gold coins were from the kid's stash.
All of the distressing was for Erin's challenge at Sketches4All.
:)

Blooms

Here was another sketch challenge from Sketches4All. Love the way this all came together! The background paper is Scenic Route from the stash. I just got the ZVA leaf bling in the mail today from A Cherry on Top! I was so excited!! It took me about 30 seconds to get it out of the mailbox, out of the package and onto the page! All the flowers are miscellaneous stuff from the stash. :)

ASC2

My first time playing with a sketch from Artful Delight! This is ASC2! I broke out an OLD kit from 3 Bugs in a Rug. All of the flowers were cut from a 12 x 12 sheet of the patterned papers. :)
