Guest Designing for Stick it Down

Hello!!  I am so excited to be a Guest Designer on the Stick it Down Challenge blog!

They always have great sketches to work with - a 1 page and 2 page sketch and then a card sketch.
Each month offers new challenges.

This month,, I was chosen to work with the 2 page sketch:

2 page sketches are a little difficult for me, but I've been getting better at them.
I love that I can incorporate so many pictures at once.

Here is my page:

I hand cut the big heart and then added lace trim along the edges.  The papers are all from DCWV.
I love how this turned out!

Thank  you so much to the Stick it Down girls!

I'm looking forward to playing along with more challenges!

Stop by and see what they have to offer for this months challenges!

Our Family Tree

On of our favorite things to do when we spend time with Grandpa, is to get him talking about his childhood and the family history.

Here is when we presented him with a huge layout of the Family Tree - as we knew it - and then listened as he regaled stories about his relatives.

He really opens up a lot if he doesn't know the camera are on him.
My husband tries to sneak up behind him and capture audio recordings also.

This moodboard from The Studio Challenges caught my eye and right away I knew this would be the perfect page.

I only wish I had captured him telling stories WHILE he was sipping his tea.

FROSTED

Hello everyone!!

I am so excited to be a Guest Designer this month at White with 1 Challenge Blog!!

This month's challenge was to use the color Misty Mountains:

Here the mood board offered for inspiration:

I decided to stick with more wintery pictures from last year.
I sure wish we would get some more snow here!

I used some patterned papers from Heidi Grace and some colored scraps.

The snowflake border is made of felt and I was lucky to find these felt letters too!

The icicles are chipboard pieces from Creative Embellishments that were painted white.

I am so thankful to be a part of the White with 1 group.

Stop by and see what the challenges are and play along!

Play On!

Wrapping up my scrapping for tonight.
Unfortunately,  I have to get ready for work tomorrow...

Here is my last page for the day:

I had this music paper with the center circle already cut out from a previous project.
I had to give up on cutting the bigger picture into a circle.  I just couldn't get it centered enough.

Here is the sketch I used from Sketch N Scrap # 193:

Have a good night!

Band Buddies

My daughter has so many great friends through band.
It's great to see how much fun they all have together.

I used a few scraps here - I'm conserving my music note paper.
I have many more pic to scrap and will need lots more of it later.

Here is the sketch that inspired me from Sketches in Thyme #405:

Time for a break!

Music Maker

Mixing things up between wedding and band pictures is certainly keeping me from burn out!

Here is a multi photo band page:

I used this sketch from Scrap Our Stash to get started:

Love that I use so many pictures!
I used a circle cutter on music note paper and inked the edges black.
The orange chevron print was in the scrap pile.  That was a great find!
For the gold part,  I added a trumpet piece.
She is playing the Mellophone here, but there no embellishments for that instrument.
Since it's close enough, and she does play trumpet at times, I thought it was a great addition to the page.

Beautiful

I don't know how many I can use the same title on a wedding page, but seeing as I have many more pictures to scrap,  I'm sure it will come up again and again.

For this page, I played BINGO with Scrap Our Stash:

I chose to work diagonally:

Washi tape - silver along the corners
Mist - purple on the white background
Doily
Bling

I cannot believe how well these are together when I was planning my page!
Once I saw that diagonal line, I knew I had a BINGO!
