Just add water

Really not sure if I like this one or not.  It doesn't help that I can't get a good picture of it right now.  

The sketch is from Sketches in Thyme.  I haven't worked with big circles in a while, so I was happy when this sketch popped up.

I added lots of bling to my circle and used some glittered swirlies from K&Company.  

I also glimmer misted a doily or two.

Not sure if I like the flowers or not...can't decide if they were the right element to add to the page....

The wave and the title are from Karen Foster.  They were from a set of rubons from years ago.  

The H2O was made from Thickers, inked in blue.

Sassy lil' Fall sketch

I am in LOVE with the Apple Cider Collection from Imaginisce!  It is so adorable!  I went back and bought some of the chipboard embellishments....now I NEED the rubons and more stickers!

The leaves are from Michael's.  I"m finding lots of awesome fall stuff now.  The papers are from DCWV- Linen and Amber Autumn.

I used a fun sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches.  Love that the pictures are all the same size, just offset.

Down on the Farm

I almost passed on this week's sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.  I didn't think I had enough pictures, or the right size.   8 little pictures are hard to find!  I was able to crop these down enough to make them fit on the page...and it's 8 pictures out of the stack!  WOOHOO!!!!

The papers are from Reminisce and I think they are soooo cute!  So glad I had them to work with.

Not sure about the title stickers...I had cut the top of the sheet off to fit in the PSB.  So I have no idea who the manufacturer is....

I added a little bit of burlap and some jute as accents here and there.  And of course, no page is really complete without a button somewhere.

Sllooowwwllyyy scrapping...

I feel like I haven't really scrapped in ages!  It's so hard to get motivated lately.  I guess the weather change is really starting to take its toll on me....

Here is this week's challenge at Practical Scrappers...which was to use ribbon on your page.  I used quite a few different colors and textures of ribbons that were in the scrap bag.

Julie Bonner created this 2 page sketch for the September challenge at Let's Scrap.  This pictures were in the "mouse"ellaneous file.  I never could find just the right sketch for them.  I decided to put them all on a "character" page.  Great sketch and more pictures out of the vacation file!  :)
I used some miscellaneous bling and epoxy Mickey head stickers.  The other stickers are from Creative Imaginations.
Sketch-a-ton challenge #8!  Loved this sketch!  And I still have zillions of Fall pictures!  Still sticking with the Fall/School themed challenge at Sketches4all!  So far, so good....

Everything on this page came from a Colorbok kit I found at Michael's.  The kit was on clearance for $5!  And there is TONS left!  
Today is my day off, so I think I might squeeze in a little shopping trip to the lss....shhh..!!!!!

My latest challenges...

I've been spending lots of time doing Fall activities with the kids lately.  I love this time of year and I can't wait for the colors to start changing on the trees.

Sketch Inspiration #141 - A quick and simple page.  But I was happy that I was able to include a little schedule for the team and our tickets from that day's game.

I've been having  a lot of fun playing the Sketch - a - ton challenges at Sketches4all.  Every other day, a new challenge is posted.  It could be a card, a layout, a bookmark, ...you never know what's coming up.  I'm trying to stick to the second part of the challenge and use Fall themes or School themes.  Soooo glad to be able to finish up last year's pictures.

Cousins Reunion

The challenge this week on Frosted Designs was to use a Family Quote.  I had these awesome pictures of my cousins from our impromptu reunion.  I haven't seen them in YEARS!  I'm making a whole album of the zillions of picture we took.  

I went with another old kit from 3 Bugs in a Rug.  I love looking for one piece of paper and running across tons of other stuff I forgot I even had!  I need to just sift through everything once in a while.  These papers are just too pretty to just sit on a shelf.  

The quote was one  I pulled out of The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Word for Scrapbookers.  Another book I totally forgot I had!

The sketch is this week's challenge at the Scraproom Blog.  I love playing with all the different sketches and once in a while, there is a cool challenge to play with.

Gotta love having Tuesdays off!!

Practical Reveal and a sketch-a-ton

I was really happy to see that this week's challenge at Practical Scrappers was buttons!  I LOVE buttons!!!  I couldn't wait for the DT reveal to see what everyone else came up with.  Now I need to add more buttons to the shopping list.  It's almost like a staple, like milk and bread...I always need buttons!  

I think I pretty much use at least one button on every page in one way or another.  

I "Glimmer Misted" a few doilies green, to make them look like trees.  Then I added lots of buttons to represent apples on the trees.  The trunks of the trees were made with torn Core'dinations Cardstock.  

These next few pages are from the Sketch-a-ton Challenge at Sketches4all.  Every other day, a sketch or challenge will be revealed and you have until the end of the month to finish them up.  You get points for every challenge finished and if you use a Fall or School theme, you get an extra point.  I have LOTS of Fall pictures from last year.  So I'm pretty happy to have incentive to get them finished before this year's pictures hit the stack!

I LOVE these little felt stickers I found at Michael's!  Little scarecrows and the sunflowers!  TOO CUTE!  I'm heading into Michael's today to see what other goodies they have for Fall.

For this page, I added some corrugated paper and a little burlap to make it pop a little more.  I also distressed the edge of the circle a bit.  And more of those cute little felties.  :)

The titles on both of these pages were made with these little cardstock letters that were so popular a few years ago.  I had to have them in all colors and styles.  I'm so glad I am finally finding a use for them.  Gotta clean out that old stuff!

Speaking of cleaning out the old stash, I had a few school stickers from last year that I wanted to use up before I bought new stuff.  This was another sketch challenge from the sketch-a-ton.

I usually don't do cards, but I had some scraps and decided to put together a card for the next challenge.  It's good to go through the scrap box sometimes.  You never know what you might find....
And lastly, so far...is a Back to School tag.  I tried to keep in mind that this is going to fit on a page soon.  The tag was cut from the "chalkboard" paper and then I added a few school stickers.  Quick and simple, and I can't wait to use it on a page.
So today's challenge is to make a bookmark.  My daughter has been begging me to buy her one, so now I have a great reason to make one.  I hope I win her approval!

More snorkeling fun

All morning I have been chanting..."focus on vacation pics, focus on vacation pics...".  It's sooo hard!!!  I started buying all kinds of new Autumn goodies and I have a lot of pics from last year.

I had about a dozen pictures laid out for this sketch, and I forced myself to put them away and stick to working with vacation!  

This sketch is from Sassy Lil' Sketches.  I know this cool sketch had many possibilities....that's why I had so many pictures laid out.  

I took some random underwater pictures from our snorkeling adventure and cut them down into 2 inch squares.  I had no idea how to mat them....until I started searching through all my little drawers.  Remember when slide mounts were the "in" thing to do??  They made perfect little frames and I was so happy that I had enough to finish up the page.  While I was searching, I also ran across a whole drawer full of different sized page pebbles.  I really need to look through my drawers more often!  They were perfect for little bubbles!  The adorable fishy stickers were a set I found at Walmart from K&Company.  Tooo cute!!!

I almost strayed...but...3 more vacation pics DONE!

More Sketchy Thursday

It's almost that time of year again....and I still haven't finished last year's fall pictures!  Maybe it's because it's my favorite time of the year and I take zillions of pictures???

I love this sketch from Sketchy Thursdays!  I had this whole page pictured in my head in about 5 minutes.  I just had to find the right pictures.  I had it narrowed down to about 6, before I kinda closed my eyes and just grabbed two of them.

I just bought some of the yummy Apple Cider Collection from Imaginisce.  I am so on my way to Archiver's later to get more!  This collection is just tooooo adorable!!  I can't believe I didn't get more.  That will be fixed later on today....

The title letters are from Pink Paisley and the leaves and flowers are a mix of stuff I had in the drawer.  

I have to go make a shopping list now....

It's raining...time to scrap!

I had planned to do lots today with the kids, but this rain kinda killed that idea!  Darn!  I guess I have to stay home and work on some pictures...

Kim at Off The Wall Craftiness gave us this awesome color combo this week.  I saw this and right away I thought of our vacation pictures.  I 've been stuck on these pics for awhile, not knowing what to do with them.  This color challenge was the perfect jumpstart!

I started out with a great sketch from Creative Genealogy.  I haven't played there in a while...gotta get back in the action!

The Mickey head border was cut from some cute cruise papers I had in the stash.  The bottom photos are cut from a brochure.  I am a big fan of putting as much vacation paraphenalia in my albums as possible.  The Mickey heads are paint chips from Home Depot.  The Castaway Club ribbon was cut from one of the many lanyards we were given when we boarded the ship.  And lastly, my favorite....BUTTONS!

A couple more pictures off the vacation stack...I'm on a roll now!!!

Practical Scrappers sketch reveal

Ann- Katrin designed this awesome sketch for Practical Scrappers this week.  I loved all the possibilities.  Of course, right away I was thinking of a "girlie" page with flowers and stuff.  But looking at these pictures, I came up with a color scheme and that was that.  The swirlies are from Target and the glitter flowers are Heidi Grace from one of the winter collections.  I added the epoxy Mickey head stickers because this was from our Disney Cruise vacation.  

The background paper is from the newest stack from DCWV - Amber Autumn.  I loved the colors!  The center piece is Kaleidoscope paper....I had to dust this one off, I've had it so long.  The border strip across the middle is from the Disney Cruise paper pack I bought on the ship.  If you look closely, you can see little Mickey heads in the waves.

And lastly, the "too cool" letter stickers are vinyl from Thickers.  

There are some big changes coming to Practical Scrappers.   Make you sure you come and check out the site and the message board to keep up with all the challenges!

Creative Scrappers #120

I love this picture of my hubby and kids playing with a little bug they found.  The only bugs my kids fear are spiders.  

The bug text paper is by Bo Bunny - U Bug Me collection.  I added some rub on stitching to frame the matted photos.

Crayola created these really cute bug stickers with googly eyes.  

The title and random bugs are Karen Foster rubons.

And the leaves are from my stash.

Practical Scrappers Reveal

This week's challenge at Practical Scrappers was to use White or Color Core Cardstock in any way you choose.  Tear it, sand it, emboss it....anything!

I think I did a little bit of everything here...

Other than the background paper, everything on this page was made with Core'dinations cardstock.  This stuff is so much fun to play with!

The sand and water was made by first tearing off strips of color core.  Then I embossed it with my Fiskars templates...old school, I know.  I used a little bit of sandpaper to sand off some of the embossing to show the color core.

I pretty much did the same thing with the starfish and the seashell.  I used some wooden accent pieces from Michael's to trace out the shapes.  I tried to crinkle them a bit to give them a little bit of dimension.

The sun was just torn and then I cut out strips.  It is lightly sanded, but it's hard to tell.  

The title block was made by using an old license plate title...anyone remember when those were in??  I've had this one for quite a while and just never made a page where it would fit.  The title on the plate was embossed so I just placed the cardstock over it and embossed a new title block.  Again, it was lightly sanded to show the color core.  

This was a really fun challenge and I am so glad I stocked up on every color imaginable!  

Celebrating Labor Day

Is it wrong to want to do nothing but scrap on a holiday?  The hubby is getting ready to be totally engrossed in his Fantasy Football Draft, the kids are playing outside and I have an empty house.  I know, poor me....

My first layout is from Sketchabilities.  Great one photo page that I just happen to have a photo for.  The background paper is from DCWV Old World Stack.  The strips are a combination of scraps, ribbon and Bazzill Borders, inked with Cat's Eyes.  The floral embellishment is a mix of stems from a pick from Michael's, Imaginisce flowers, and Prima flowers.  The title letters are Thickers vinyl collection.

This page was inspired by the sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches.  Love that it called for two photos in different directions.  The papers are Basic Grey Granola.

More Sunday projects

Mid-week Mojo #7 for Scrapbook Steals.

Searched thru the stash, dusted off some old papers and settled on 3 Bugs in a Rug Tickled Pink Collection.  I cut out the circles with flowers and put them on 3D Pop Dots.  The title was made from Making Memories Rubons.

I used nothing but scraps for this page from the Chocolate Fest.  I have chocolate chunk and chocolate chip papers, but could I find them??!!  NOOO!!  That would have been waaaay too easy!  I spent more than an hour searching.   Good thing I have more chocolate fest pictures, so when it does pop up, I'll still be able to use it.  I used Basic Grey Chocolate Chip letters....just because it seemed appropriate...lol.  I added some chocolate stickers (they are supposed to be scented...ewww...) from the party store.

Ae you craving chocolate yet???!!!  Wait till you see the rest of the pictures...   :)

Thursdays are for Sundays

I thought I would start my Sunday off by working on some great sketches from Sketchy Thursdays.  

The first sketch is this from this week's challenge.  This was way different and I really wanted to give it a try.  I think I changed out pictures about 6 times before I pulled out this great vacation shot.  I love it when I look at a picture and all the bells and whistles start going off.  The white distressed paper is from Basic Grey Granola.  The blue background paper is from a Prima stack.

Starting with Saturday....

After a rocky start, I finally found my mojo and got to work on a bunch of projects I have been wanting to do this weekend.  I received a whole new batch of pictures in the mail and I am totally anxious to get to work on them.  Of course, this means I will probably put off the vacation pictures, yet again.

This first layout is actually of vacation pictures from the beach at Atlantis in the Bahamas.  I am totally missing this place....

I sprayed the background with 2 different shades of blue glimmer mist.  

All of the added elements are from Colorbok - Wild Indigo.  

The sketch is from Creative Genealogy.  

My second page was inspired by Off the Wall Craftiness.  This week's color combo is red  and aqua.  

The sketch is from Stuck on U Sketches.

All the papers are from Heidi Grace.  I inked up some of the flocked snowflakes with a light aqua ink and added some sparkly snowflakes.  Those came from the dollar spot at Joann's.

The last layout for the day came from the sketch at Sketches in Thyme.  A beautiful sketch that called for one photo.  My butterfly pictures are the ones that just came in the mail, so I was pretty happy!

The color inspiration is this week's challenge at Frosted Designs.  A great photo was posted and this picture jumped right out of the box, begging to be scrapped.

Not sure where I got the background paper, but it worked perfectly.

The large doily was inked with a light pink paint dauber.

The smaller doilies were sprayed with glimmer mist and then inked a bit to tone down the spray.  

The butterflies were cut out by hand, colored in the Tombow markers and dotted with white paint.  I mounted them on pop dots to give them some dimension.

The fabric flowers, buttons and ribbons all came from a wonderful kit from Katies Kreations 4 U.  

The colors just happened to fit the challenge perfectly!
