My favorite papers...

Did you see my happy dance today?? I snuck out for a bit and ran to Archiver's where they FINALLY had Echo Park's Victoria Gardens!!! I was so excited!!! I've been wanting this for a while and was just waiting for it to get here! YAY!

So of course, I don't feel I did it justice...lol. I used the September sketch from My Sketch World. I love all the black in this collection against the pastels. The only way to make these pictures pop for me was to add the black mats.

A few pop dots on the journal spots gave the whole page some dimension.

Echo Park is one of my most favorite paper companies! I have "almost" everything...but I mostly just hoard it all...is that wrong?? Eventually, the perfect pictures will come along and I will really get to use a lot of it. Time to charge up that camera and get out! I chose this collection for the Favorite Product challenge from The Paper Variety Birthday Celebration. I'm going to search for more pretty pictures so I can play with these papers a little longer. :)

Fall Fun

Just when I thought Fall was here....it got really warm out today! I wore a sweatshirt and jeans to the Farm and I think I sweat away about 10 pounds. Only 10 more to go...lol

Before I left I started working on this Fall page using sketch #172 from Creative Scrappers. Most of this paper was leftover from last year. I love using up old stuff and scraps!

I used a Fall stamp for some of the images of leaves. A few different colored markers helped them blend into the background paper. And my title was made using scraps and some fun letter stamps. :)

This was for challenge #1 from The Paper Variety Birthday Celebration, which was to use stamps on your project. I used the leaf image and letter stamps. :)

Now I'm hoping my car is ready to come home so I can go shopping for new Fall goodies...gotta get me some Happy Harvest!!

A is for Arrows

I decided to join in on the ABC crop at My Sketch World! First up..."A" - a layout with at least 2 arrows. I was thinking of a travel page, but found these fun arrows from the Crate Paper School Spirit collection.

I also added a few numbers using Thickers, rubons and stickers for the number challenge at Crop Suey.

I had a lot of help by using the Frosted Designs Sketch along Tuesdays sketch. :)

Now to work on a few more layouts and cards...I'm a little bit behind. :)

Random days off

Well, the parts didn't come in yet for my car, so I'm "stuck" at home all day. Darn....no car, no work, ...guess I "must" play all day. :)

Here is my take on this week's sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.

The photo mat is color core from Coredinations. I used a small sanding block around the edges. The trim is new from Recollections. And my favorite new embellishment are these fun peacock feathers! I love these things! And since I kinda tend to stalk the peacocks at the zoos, I am fortunate enough to have lots of fun pictures to scrap. (Just trying to justify my purchase...lol)

Off to work on some cards...have a great day!

Flourishes and Flowers

I"m still trying my best to avoid all the work that I have to do around here.

I started a huge project in the kids' room on Friday. I needed to paint the walls and start on a few other fun decorations. We decided to go with a jungle/safari theme. So right now, the walls are a beige/tan color...it's actually called Camel...which I thought was really appropriate. :)

At one point, I managed to fall off a chair, messed up my wrist, my ankle and had a huge goose egg. Now I'm just sore all over! But I finished painting the walls, so I was very happy. :)

So here is yet another attempt to stay safely at my desk and not get hurt anymore.

I used sketch #98 from Let's Capture These Sketches. This was such a pretty sketch, I am so glad I still had some Spring flower pictures to play with.

The flowers are from the stash and I just cut them up a bit and moved the petals around to try to match the flowers in the photo. I used some stems I had in the stash too. I also colored in some chipboard flourishes here and there for an added touch. This qualifies for the "add a flourish" challenge from Frosted Designs Fabulous Fridays. :)

I still don't want to work....

A "happy" page

I'm so happy that I have a few hours to work on some pages again! I've been so busy around the house and still have so much to do. But as long as everyone is still sleeping, I can play! :)

Here is my take on the sketch from Stuck on U Sketches. I found these beautiful purple flower stickers from Jolee's last week and was so excited and anxious to use them. I knew I had this picture of my daughter that was perfect for these stickers.

I just happened to have a circle already cut, so I just distressed the edges a bit. For the light purple block, I used solid paper and used a floral stamp and dark purple ink.

Now I have to get back to some projects for the kids' new bedroom. :)

Meeting my New Design Team Today!

Wow! What a great way to start off a holiday weekend! I found out on Friday that I made the Design Team at Lasting Memories! Woohoo!! Karen sent me the email and I was so excited!
