Lasting Memories Challenge # 755

Hard to believe that we are already in June!  And we haven't taken  trip to the zoo yet this year!

I have to reminisce by scrapping pics from last year's trip:

This week's challenge from Lasting Memories is a new Size it Up Challenge:
Here are the cuts to use for your project:

LM #755 - Use the following sizes of papers on your layout.
3 - 5" squares
3 - 1.5 x 5 strips
3 - 2" circles

I was able to use up quite a few scraps to get this page done.
And I realized I have at least 4 sets of these bear stickers!  lol!
Now you know why I need more trip to the zoo!

Stop by the blog and check out how the rest of the Design Team used these cuts

Link up your layouts to the link on the blog  by Saturday, June 28th at 10 PM EST for a chance to be our guest designer for an upcoming month.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Spring Flowers

Hello and Happy Spring!  I love this time of year when all of the flowers start blooming and everything smells so fresh and pretty.

My daughter and I took a quick day trip to Holland Michigan to see some of the tulips.  We were early for the Tulip Festival but we were still able to see lots of blooms.

This month at Lasting Memories, we are having fun with different paper cuts - not the bad ones!

LM #753 - Use the following sizes of papers on your layout.

1 - 6 x 12
1 - 8.5 x 11
1 - 6" circle
1- 4 x 10

I pulled out the box of random bits and pieces and managed to put this page together:

Most of the papers are from Simple Stories and 49 and Market.
I knew I would use them eventually!

Stop by the Lasting Memories blog and see what the Design Team has come up with!

All Smiles

My beautiful granddaughter just loves to smile for the camera - lucky me!!  lol!

The hardest part is whittling down which pictures to print for scrapping.

This was fun to put together using this month's challenges from The Scrappy Friends - Stacy and Rochelle

Here is Rochelle's awesome, multi photo sketch:

And here is the Tic Tac Toe board from Stacy:

The colors were so easy to work with being that I just found a bunch of yellow embellishments and papers.
For Stacy's challenge, I used an edge punch, wood grain (paper) and flowers - a mix of paper flowers from Paper Studio and wood veneer pieces.

So happy to be able to use up more scraps and stuff I had on hand!

Going Coastal

Welcome to another challenge at Lasting Memories

This month is all about Tic Tac Toe boards - simply create a project using a row on the board.  For those who have never played before, you can go left to right along a row or up and down on a column or diagonally from the top left (or right) to the bottom right (or left) crossing the center word.

Here is the board for challenge # 751:

I chose to go right down the middle:  stripes, flowers and stickers:

Stop by and see how the rest of the Lasting Memories Design Team played the board!

Spring Walk

Spring is here and while we wait for all the pretty flowers to bloom, we like to take walks around different

towns to see what they have going on.  Here are my daughter and I in Naperville at the Riverwalk checking out the decorated BUGS all over.

This week at Lasting Memories, we are still playing along with the Design Teams favorite sketches

Here is one of Jill's favorites for challenge #748:

Love the multi photos and the hexagons.  Inspired me to dust off my Creative Memories punches and start using some of the new hexagon enamel shapes.

Stop by the blog and see what else the Design Team has put together at Lasting Memories!

Beautiful - Homecoming 2024

Hello there!  Today I would like to share a page I made for the Lasting Memories Design Team - April challenge #746.

We were tasked with sharing one of our favorite sketches to work with - I have had this sketch saved on Pinterest for years and always come back to it.

I love the "girly" feel of this sketch - using the swirls and the different flowers.

It certainly reminds me of the HUGE stash of flowers and bling that I have!  I really need to use more of it and this sketch is a great incentive.

This sketch has been used for many homecoming and prom pictures for my daughters, and now I can use it for my son and his girlfriend.

I  die cut a couple of small frames to add some flowers.
The larger pink flowers are all from 49 and Market and the smaller ones are from Recollections.

Here are some close up pictures of the bling and the flower clusters:

I am sure everyone has had a sketch that they have used multiple times.
Be sure to share your sketches and ideas at the Lasting Memories blog this month!

APPLES!!

Happy Saturday!  I am anxiously waiting for the Spring weather that we were promised!!  One day it's int he 70's....and the next day it's in the 30's and snowing!  Gotta love living in the Midwest....not!!

While I'm waiting for the family to get moving, I finished up a page for the Scrappy Friends Challenge from Stacy and Rochelle:

Here is my page:

I used up lots of scraps and older stash.
LOVE these Big Brads!

Here is Rochelle's sketch that got me started:

I went across the middle:
washi tape
circle
brads

GREAT inspiration to use that stash!

Lasting Memories #742

Good morning!  So happy that's it's almost Spring!  The weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer and I am a new member of the Lasting Memories Design Team!!

I have been playing along with their challenges for years and I love them all.  The challenges help you think outside the box and certainly help bash some stash.

My first Design Team challenge is #742 - to create a project using a circle divided into pie shapes.

I chose to use a compass as my circle, divided by the different directions and multiple pictures.

I cut 2 large circles, inked the edges and then using a black marker, marked all the tiny orienting lines found on a compass.

I dug through the stash and found some wooden arrows and a giant brad for the center.
I tried to cut my pictures down to fit into each sector, but they were just too awesome and I would have lost a lot of detail.
These pictures are part of my daughter's adventures in Colorado.
I then had to add some Nuvo drops just for an added touch....and I like playing with them...lol.

I am so excited to be part of a great team and I can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of the year!

Toon Lagoon

I am sticking with my goal to get more projects completed this year.  Right now I am still focused on Universal Studios from 2022.  I don't have much to do, so my goal is by the end of February - moved up from the end of March.

Here is a fun page I did today:

I crossed over Universal pics with a Disney collection.
The colors were perfect for the fun, colorful look I wanted.

I need to learn how to cross over more collections like this!

Every day is a chance to find magic

 Happy New Year to all!!

I am so happy to have been able to finish up 2 separate trips over this holiday break!  New Orleans and Punta Cana are officially done, and put into proper albums.  Such a daunting task, but I am so glad it's done.

On to the next adventure!  We spent a few days in Universal Studios.  Luckily, I do not have stacks of pictures to work on.  I am going to set a goal of March 31st to have this project completed.

Lasting Memories challenge #731 is to use a sketch as your starting point.  I LOVE sketches!!

Here is my page:

I sure hope I use up a lot of the Harry Potter stuff that I over bought!

Here is my sketch inspiration - the January 2025 sketch from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine:

On to the next!
