Wow. When life throws you a curve ball and you miss it...things sure get crazy. Our family struck out quite a few times, one right after the other. Things got really rough, and just when we thought we were handling it, we suffered another swing and a miss.
I really miss my hobby. It was my escape from the real world. But when family needs you, you need to step back and take care of what's important.
I know I messed a few things up, let a few people down, but it certainly was not intentional. I hope there are no hard feelings and we can all get back to enjoying what we love to do...preserve our families memories.
I have to admit, pulling out my stash again sure felt strange. I was overwhelmed, lost, uninspired, overwhelmed,..oh wait, I said that already.
I figured I would start out slow and I have to say, it took me a long time to do a page. I've worked on a few that I was not happy with and will probably do them over at some time.
Here is what I have been up to..as I crawl out of the cave and reentered the Real World.
I stayed on as a Design Team member at
Scrap Our Stash and we had a challenge for Back To School. We had to put together a page using things representing the letters B-T-S.
I used Buttons, Twine and Stickers.
While we were on the subject of Back To School, I finally put some of my daughter's achievements onto a page to preserve them.
Over at the
If It's Groovy blog, we were celebrating International World Peace Day.
I drew and cut my piece sign shape by hand. All of the fun stickers were from the Party Store. And I just couldn't leave out the buttons!
And lastly, I thought I would give this sketch from
MOB (Mother's of Boys) a shot. Here is the sketch:
And using a collection from Colorbok, here is my page:
It feels really good to be back! Now if I can just keep the mojo moving....
I sure miss my scrapbook friends!
